k, I booted up my copy.. I got halfway through when the game first came out and got bored when you had to turn Cid or whatever king from a frog to a human. Is it even worth my time to try to beat it now?

Not really in my opinion. FF9 used to be my least favorite FF game, untill FFX-2 came out.

Actually I really liked FF9 I thought it was definately a strong game in the series. Some of the end game summons are really cool, and the story line is good too. Plus, there's an almost unbeatable boss, Ozma was the bane of my existence for many months. I've still never beat him.

(I don't really know if "bane of my existence" is a real phrase that makes sense or not, but you know what I mean, he's a pain in the butt)

It's worth beating 1 time. You'll probably be disappointed with the replay value and the ending of the story. When I tried playing it the 2nd time through to do all the side-quests, I just gave up. They weren't fun and didn't offer any really worthwhile rewards.

Like Cherie said, it's worth beating once...but that's about it. I thought the game was pretty solid aside from the fact the the dragoon is a rat and the ending had to be one of the weakest I've seen.

bleh, i really liked FF9, it was my 2nd favorite after FFVI.

Actually I don't know now I'm confused with them both...

But I thought FF9 really captured the fantasy part of "final fantasy".... especially after playing FF8, FF9 was definitley a lot of fun.


But then again, I'm old school.... I like adventure games.

9 was good but the storyline needed work...especially near the end.

Like...you kill Kuja...then all of a sudden you fight some big blue....thing...that was never ever mentioned ONCE in the entire 20 hours it takes to skate through...

its worth playing once or twice but dosnt have hardly any replay value like most other FF games.

Anyway I just spam-threw things at necron with amarant and nuked with vivi and he went down pretty easy, make me kinda sad to beat it with such ease after the final bosses on FF8 were such a damn challenge >_<

I liked FF9 and I have beat it 5x's I still like the CS when Queen Brahne dies. You should continue on with the game because there actually isnt that much left to it.

ah kings quest was so fun back in the day

anyway i really enjoyed ff9, for a few reasons, the scenary was so much more pleasing than ff8, and i liked the old school ff4 kind of battle system where each player has their own job. anyway i liked it. i have beaten 1 through 11 ;p and tactics

FFIX was one of those games that just reveled in it's own mediocrity. The story was blah, the premise was blah, the idea of "returning to the old" was just blah as well. Don't get me wrong. I liked it a lot more that I did FFVIII. I hated that game with all my heart. I simulate like a plane crash waiting to happen. It takes off, it's cool everything is fine... Turbulence starts at the end of disc one... The garden wars happen things seem to be alright and then all of sudden.

We grew up together and the GFs made us forget.



WHAT THE HELL?

I turned my game off at that point. I still beat it... maxed out all my junctions, got all the cards, beat omega weapon (with no holy wars.) but the game was ass.

I actually kinda liked this game, of course FF VII was my favorite, but I liked the way the equipment was set up in this one. And that Ozma was a toughy but I got him in the end. So long ago that I don't remember how, but it had something to do with the rings I wore. Anyway I agree with replayability, once was fun, but enough.

The only thing i remember to beating him was draining off his MP ... dunt ask how i 4got >.> mebe osmose..... or some other skill then it was pound on him4ever w/ my fav combo
Auto haste + regen all + long summons where i get to heal to full on the summons mwhahahahhahahaha and vivi there to brow shit up on dagger w/ auto reflect i think... (cuz vivi had reflect X2 thingy where if he casted off a person w/ reflect the effect of spell was stronger) then had eicko summon also ... zidane just use him to stab stab stab.... heh
