As we all know, Sony has introduced their new thin/skinny PS2s. I play FFXI on PS2, however it is starting to go out and I will need a new on soon (it already doesnt play DVDs and Games). Well since u can laod FFXI off the hard drive, u dont need a disk to play, so I have been ok. The new thin/skinny PS2s have no hard drive capability! So how am I suppose to play FFXI when my larger/older model PS2 goes out? From my understanding, Sony isn't going to make the larger ones anymore. This stupid marketing strategy to sell more PS2s might cost me FFXI in the future, unless I can get an older model off ebay or a friend or something. This sucks. PS3 better have a way for me to play FFXI when it comes out later this year. |

Sony said they are still producing the older PS2 units. You might have to order them from Sony or from The Sony Store. I think something like that. |

this is old news buddy... but yarr is some what right, u can order the old PS2's online at the onlive store, dont even try to find it in any other store, they ran out of stock months ago. |

Yea, I work at ToysRUs in the video game dept. Everyone is taking advantage of supply and demand, including us. In order to buy a PS2, u have to buy 2 games, controllers, and/or accessories (any combination of TWO (2)) Haha, its funny as hell to see ppl all pissed but everyone is doing it. Our purchasing rules are actually leniant compared to GameStop. |

Well if you look at it, no one just buys a game system, so the items Retail stores are requiring ppl to buy are unavoidable. They ask you to buy any combination of 2 items whather it be a game or accessory. No one ever rarely buys just the unit unless they are just replacing an old one. Plus it is all about supply and demand. Ike sure u can tell me to "blow it out my ass" but you are the one walking out empty handed, not me. And no we arent losing any business because ppl walk out empty handed, the demand is so high that we arent worried about customers like that haha. And yes, ToysRUs is probably gonna go under haha, no biggie, not like it was my career or anything. |

What do you mean purchasing rules are lenient compared to GameStop? At least where I work, we get PSTwos in, we sell them as is, no big deal and no stupid fake bundles. Also if you don't think SE was pissed about Sony's lack of HDD support, they actually sued Sony for ruining their sales. |

just fyi you will need to reinstall the games if you move it to a different system. the HDD recognizes the ps2 hardware. |

I think sales are area oriented. Where u are MK, there might be plenty. But in Dallas atm, these things are rare as hell. So the GameStops near us require customers to buy 3 Games to buy the PS2. THats what I meant when I said we are leniant compared to GS. |

I hate Xbox anyway Halo 2 online was enough to take me away from FFXI for like 2 days... And they clain its their best game. Most Xbox games are shooters anyway. I only really liked Halo because of the story line. Halo 2 went and fucked it over. As most times the sequal ruined the original. PS* is better because it has RPGs which are pretty much the only types of games i play. So i hope Xbox goes down. It sucks badly. |

I hate Xbox. Games should be fun. Shouldnt matter what the graphics are... thats just a really shallow way of picking a game. I love the old sprite games and cell shading. I think the best system for games is Nintendo due to the fact they make good fun games, they dont just churn out crap to make a profit. |
