I hated sony before I read this..... man SOE is fucking weak having to put commercials into their failing MMO just to make back some capital. You know there are some disgustingly obese EQ2 players just drooling down their triple chins over the fact that they can order pizza in game. I know I will buy a PS3 sadly because sony is whore enough to secure exclusivity rights with square/enix. If not for SE rpgs I wouldn't have my PS2 anymore because it is a piece of shit otherwise.

Just FYI. Although they advertise this "feature" on their website and in their news. There's no actual in game advertising related to this command.

And its no different really then addign a /command to open up gmai, or one of a myriad of spoiler sites. Something players alt+tab to do all the time anyway.

EQII = crap that why they feed you pizza so you don't notice the crap that's being shoveled at you otherwise. Btw SOE already announced the first expansion for EQII. (and it's not free) Pretty pathetic I think considering all the fixes they need to make.

EQ2 hasn't annoucned any expansions yet. They announced an "adventure pack" these cost $5 ( or free with Sony's all access pass). They do have an actual expansion announced but not til late 2005.

As for what an adventure pack is, although I could be mistaken, I liken it most readily to NWN's prememium modules.

its basically a zone ( or serious of zones) with an overiding story. there will be multiple quests starting and reovolving around the areas . If you played EQ2 I'd say it'd be like a Deathfist Citadle or Nektropos castle that you pay for.

Also as a hook to get more buyers they provide the first areas of the pack for free for all to use.

Personally I don't mind them. I won't be buying them personally ( unless they have lvl 50 raid content, which this one won't., but more stuff to do is not a bad thing. Iwon't say SoE's not greedy, and trying to milk it splayerbase, but hey if you use the features they provide can you really fault them for charging for them?

I dunno.

Anyway fossilu its pretty bias against eq2. Sure its got issues, but I';m sure the folks who made the adventure pakc have nothing to do with spell and bug fixes. And the only reason the can afford to higher more programmers is because they charge us for the crap they produce.

Yea I may be biased but after playing EQII and comparing it to FFXI or even WoW I'm pretty sure that it doesn't hold a candle to either. The graphics are really nice.. if your computer is alot better than mine (2.4Ghz P4, 512 MB, ATI 9600XT) but they look like crap if you start having to scale down the textures. The capital cities make me cry from the constant lag and having to wait for the zones to load. And don't get me started on the map. It's horrid! Not only does it look like something a 3 year old could draw but it doesn't show party members or anything. There is no mini-map in the UI either, just a compass. They could really learn from WoW or GuildWars about mini-maps. With guildwars you can ever write on the minimap like an electronic whiteboard. The only thing I can give EQII credit for is it's version of the skillchain system but even that is fustrating. An now it's 5 months after launch and they are already charging for add on content. please......

I'm sure SOE realizes this too and that the only way they can retain their customer base is to make sure they are so fat from pizza that they can't get out of their chairs and go to the store to buy another game.
