Hello CKD peeps!
If you recognize me (you probably wont ^^; ) I played on Ifrit server alongside many of you and partied with some people (its funny seeing them in the screenshots Im like OMG I REMEMBER THAT DUDE!! lol). I was a newb RDM named Flarez, lvl 60 when I "retired" from FFXI **cries** but anyway, lemme get to the point.
I thought you guys were awesome but I was never high enough lvl to even think about attempting to join you :P so eh... but I still think you guys are awesome and would do well in other MMOs too! I know a lot of you guys might play WoW, or even EQ2, but IMO both of those games can get kinda lame, kinda quick... so I wanted to bring to your attention a new MMORPG that will be released (hopefully soon :D ) that will be bigger, better, and more amazing than both EQ2 and WoW combined.
If you havent heard of it, Dark and Light, will be the biggest MMORPG to date, @ 40,000 sq. km (15,000 square miles) of land to explore, with no zones, and all one server!! Thats probably about... say... 35-40x the size of Vana'diel? Not to mention the completely insane game features! Since the list of game features is too long for me to list here, please, check it out for yourself!
http://www.darkandlight.net <<< just check out the FAQ section or the "Features" section
Heres an interesting thing about land size, taken from a post on mmorpg.com:
Total area (square kilometers):
Dark and Light - 40,000
SWG (all worlds) - 2025
Horizons - 1024
WoW - 950
AC1 - 576
EQ1 - 144
UO - 49
How many times each world fits into Dark and Light:
Dark and Light - 1
SWG (all worlds) - 20
Horizons - 39
WoW - 42
AC1 - 69
EQ1 - 278
UO - 816
And look at some of the screenshots while you're at it... they're equally as amazing. For a few more quick notes: There are 12 races (I think), 14 classes. Theres 2 kinds of exp, social exp (SxP) and fighting exp (FxP). The lvl cap is 100. You can become a high political position (such as baron, lord, or even king) of a land. You can control land (meaning your guild can control and govern an area of the game). You can build your own houses. There are 2 alignments, Dark and Light. You worship a god and depending on your piety that god may protect you during dire times in battle.... a lot more than this as well! But those are some key features.
Im not saying you should totally abandon FFXI for this (you wouldnt anyway :P) but Im recommending it as a great game for your guild to move to or "have a copy" in, once you've totally dominated FFXI like all the japs (hehe). The game is set for release on April 30th, 2005... It probably wont be around till June/July anyway. Consider it, and check it out!
