News from the gameplay playthrough during E3 is that Link is a Goat Herder. The first task you seem to have to do is herd 20 goats on Epona. The reports are that there are dozens of mini quests to do in the town. The story says the you are assigned to go to Hyrule as a representative of your village in the Hyrule Summit.

Horseback fighting looks really sweet. They say that it's very responsive (something I was worrying about).


On to the trailer. In the trailer, Link turned into a wolf when the moon came up, and a small shrouded boy, from what I hear named "Midna", who rides Link.




The first dungeon is a forest "Monkey Lair". It seems Link has to infiltrate this and kill a bad monkey (Standard first dungeon). The first new weapon they talked about seems VERY interesting. A "Gale Boomerang",a boomerang with a tornado below it, which can pick up objects on the ground or in a place you cannot reach and fling them back to you.

Another good feature is the ability for Link to swim. As much as I ADORED Wind Waker, i was a little dissapointed in not being able to explore that amazing cell-shaded sea.



Something still unknown is whether or not the "Twilight Princess" (sort of lame name, i know), has something to do with the game itself. In the past , the Zelda games have had a subtitle that had something to do with the game, I.E "Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask, Wind Waker," however it is unkown if the midnight princess is zelda, Midna (if that's a girl), or an Item.

I am PUMPED for this game. They say it's coming out on the GC, but I would expect just as much to see it premiere with the Revolution.

i am really looking forward to this one, but i hope they can think of a better name before then, but i guess you cant jundge a book by its cover,(you cant judge a game by its title) only its graphics

I found some info about the wolf/hawk thingie somewhere....need to find it

hmmm cant find it...anyway...it was from a anime movie ladyhawk or something....the prins changed into a wolf at moonlight and she transformed into a hawk @ daylight....seen the hawk in the trailer?...maybe...zelda?

US. I think they plan to release it just before the 360 launch.

edit: I think I read somewhere it will be a worldwiderelease this nov.

Can someone say "Game of the YEAR!" Currently, in my opinion the best game of 2005 is Resident Evil 4(some say God of War but meh). This also looks like the best Zelda yet(a title currently held by Ocarina as many agree) but we'll see. I'm drooling. This will hold me till FFXII's 2006 release(2005 in Japan, bitches...).

It's too quick to say it will be one of the best zeldas, but surely it will be game of the year. Zeldas always are. I have such an emotional attachment to them. It wouldn't be unlikely for me to cry when I get it/beat it/have an emotional part in the story

i fucking hated wind waker.... The cartoon look killed it for me. I love nintendo, but seriously they need to grow up. Nintendo rev looks like a final good step the right direction

*kill Mikey* I loved Wind Waker. I thought the graphics were gorgeous and made it look cool. But I do know aa heck of a lotta people hated Wind Waker and Nintendo for that.

Don't worry. I've built up a resistance to WW hatred from the Ninteno Power forums. I used to just fight it at all fronts. I was vicious. (That's how cool I am)

The reason why i hated wind waker so much was because of this reason. First the zelda titles have always been a bit more mature, in comparison to the other games nintendo makes. When they did that they killed it for me. Actually i did buy wind waker why because i love nintendo. However how far did i get into the game? I actually lost intrest half way. Because to be frank the cell shaded graphics pissed me off. i'm 23 not 12...

mikey i think it was more kiddish because kid's have parents money to spend and anything that geta kids interest they will spend money on it and keep spending on merchandising(sp) and crap.
Kids and teenagers is what the gaming world is really after imo.

CONSOLE Game of the Year for next year MAYBE.

It has a hell of a market to fight with, and we're having the biggest 4 years of gaming ever starting last November.

We've had Halo 2, HL2(my goty), WoW, RE4, God of War, SC:PT this year alone.

We have new lineups for PS3 and Xbox360 over the course of the next 3 years, as well as sequels to some listed games.

But honestly, when I want to see what new games to look out for, there are a few big developers you HAVE to look at, because they make gold and only gold.

Rare-Kameo(wow), PD:0(...meh?)
Bioware-Expecting announcement at E3 after Jade Empire.
Nintendo- Zelda
Bungie- Well as I hear it, Halo 3's launch is going to coincide with PS3's launch.
Valve- Don't ask, don't tell....just keep making them.
Epic-HAVE YOU SEE GEARS OF WAR? Yeah I've gone through 4 pairs of pants between that and the next UT.
ID- Quake 4 ftw.
Tecmo- DOA4 looks awsome...but I'd rather see Ninja Gaiden 2...

These are all devs that just...don't really make bad games. 2 Microsoft, 1 Nintendo, 1 with 2 Games for Xbox and 1 for PS3, and Bioware...which could quit Xbox as far as anyone knows....


And toss in Square support for Xbox360(Actually if they seperated it from the current servers I'd play. Fuck the JPN economy), the Xbox360 Japanese RPGs from the old Square guys(character designs by Toriyama), and simply...look at Ninety Nine Nights. Bam Japanese Market

You don't have the same gaming ideals as I do, though. And in the past, Zelda has beat out many of these big games. I admit though, Half Life would beat anything in a game of the year contest.

Zelda just gives me that warm feeling inside

I loved Wind Waker...I think the style was cool XD thats why I imported immediatly when it was released in japan (and I didnt leave my room for a loooooong time :P)

Jade Empire was awesome IMO. Hopefully in the sequel, we get all of the Jade EEmpire to go to >___>(Phoenix Gate etc.) but yeah I guess your right.
