Post subject:  Guild Wars still?
I know alot of people from here and from FS got Guild Wars when it came out. But it seems just about everyone beat the game and stopped playing. Guess no one is into the PVP.

I was wondering, does anyone here still play the game regularly? I think the PVP is awesome and I wanted to know if others still play. bye

Like most people I quit playing it when I reached the level cap. There's no end-game content except for the PvP, which didn'nt appeal to me that much.
That and the community SUCKS. Almost every mission party is filled with 7 year old pricks who seem to get a kick out of randomly insulting people before taking off in the middle of the mission, leaving the rest to die.
And the absence of any kind of AH really gets annoying and makes for a primitive economy.

Admitted, it had a few cool things such as guild halls, speech during cut scenes and I liked how any main/sub job combination worked but for the rest it just has too many flaws in my opinion.

Yeah, if you're not into PVP then the game really doesn't last once you beat the missions. But I love PVP, I got like 1k faction from playing in the Shiverpeaks Arena. Fun fun. I want to get into a guild that does alot of Tombs and GvsG, I can't imagine how fun that would be.

I honestly haven't had that much problem with groups yet. Sure, a random bad group here and there, but for the most part it's been good. I guess I should keep my mouth shut for two more missions until I reach the desert. ;P I've heard quite a few horror stories there.

In regards to saying what you said about leaving mid-mission, the whole thing in regards to disconnecting needs to be fixed. I haven't had any people leave on purpose, but there has been a few people that got disconnected. That's bullshit.

And I couldn't agree with you more on the AH. Sat in Ascalon the other day for four fucking hours watching the trade channel, just so I could clear out my storage. Got some good money from it, but what a pain in the ass. An AH or at least a bazaar system would make the game so much better. I actually just read in an interview with a dev that a AH system is on their to-do list in the future... hopefully maybe with the next expansion.

But yeah, I completely love the game. I honestly thing GW is better than FFXI in almost every aspect. The only thing I can think of that FFXI is better is that it has an endgame that's more than PVP (a shitty one at that...but at least it has one). I really don't know how long PVP can last. Hopefully pretty long. But oh well, what can you expect from a game where you pay $0 a month? I think it's well fucking worth it.

BTW Piro, I saw the thread you made, I see you went Necro. That's what I went :D I love it, it's so much fun, it kinda sucks that most people don't really appreciate them as much as other professions. What type of build did you play? I'm currently into Blood, but as soon as I can get my hands on skills like Verata's Sacrifice or Bone Minions, I'd like to try full-out Minion build for PVE.

LOL Oh just you wait till you get to the desert! If you don't have a well organized group where everyone knows what they're doing, you won't even get 10 passes out of the first town gate without being wiped! I'm really fucking serious here, you'll see what I mean when you get there. :twisted:

Yeah, used a Nec/Mes with Death, Curses and Domination which I found a very effective build, at least for PvE. You can fuck mobs up so bad they wish they were never born.
Don't underestimate the difficulty minion build though! You can't sit back for a second. If you want it to be effective you have to be constantly raising new ones, watching their health to keep them alive which you have to pay for with blood and pay attention to the ongoing battles while managing all this.
I also got a 20 War/Mo with swordsmanship, tactics and healing.
Before I quit I also started working on a Ele/Mo. But whatever maybe one day I'll pick it up again, if the expasion packs bring anything interesting.
