Wasn't sure where to post this

I got ps2 like the day it came out, and have been playing ffxi on it steady since ps2 release. For the past few months my ps2 has been taking a while reading ne kind of disc, and recently it just wont read anything at all. Kinda puzzling since i haven't really played a whole lot of ps2 games since ffxi came out.

Anyways i tried cleaning out everythign i could reach, blowing on it and stuff =/

someone fix it pls

Yes I used alcohol, so try with that. I can't guarantee anything though.

theres a guide on the net somewhere telling you how to fix this, believe it or not the lid to the cd drive is on too tight and gunk is stuck in there. google it.

I do believe that there is a Uni-system cd/dvd drive cleaner for the lens.....you might want to try that, a lot less of a hassle than taking the case apart

edit: I have links for dvd-lens cleaners:

and a link for a PS2 lens issue:

If you have an old style PS2, anything before the most recent bundled with modem will do that eventually, Sony will repair it for free, takes abt a month, i had to do it twice.
