What'd you think?

Out of the 2 styles there really wasn't any differences, just active time vs wait time. (in wait time everything stops while your choosing in menu's) i don't really notice too much of a difference because i played phantasy star online which you had to use menu's while active anyway, so i kinda got used to it through that.

the gameplay itself was IMO excellent. it was basically a single player FFXI. you get 3 people in your party, and you just run around and kill stuff. (mandragoras, bombs, horse-like things i can't remember the name of, adamantoise was in it...and others) you get chains for your exp depending how fast you kill and stuff. (i'm not 100% sure but i believe it was agro based as well)

only thing i was kinda iffy about was the summoning. i was a big fan of FF3 (FF6 on PSX), and i enjoyed the esper system. in the demo espers were just regular summons that took away your other 2 party members and they were extremely strong. Belias was the summon in the demo, (i can't remember if he was in FF3/6?) and was a lot like ifrit. i had to cure him a few times, because i summoned him against the last guy in the active time one. i gave him a few cures and used a couple of potions and let him hack away. after a while he did a sort of special move, he did hellfire, which did a shitload of damage and killed the boss. the only thing i really didn't like about the esper / summoning system is that you HAVE to be FULL on MP to do it...i wish there was some way to summon something maybe a bit less weak for a bit less MP. i found that i was almost never at full MP unless i actually specifically tried to be. (which i did because i wanted to see how the summons were)

all in all, i like it a LOT, hoping to get some others opinions on that. it definately wasn't half as bad as i thought it was going to be, and based on the demo i'd give it a good 9.5/10

Im gonna rent Dragon Quest just to play that demo. Im very interested and have always loved every FF I have played.
