I just got it, but I have to say the FF12 demo really seems to cater to fans of FF11. And so I really like it. The mandragora for instance has the exact same animation, except his little arms flutter faster. He double-hits and also "readies Head Butt." Although he also can cast Fire now haha. If I killed monsters faster I would get chain#. I got up to chain#4 once. Although sometimes I killed fast and got no chain so it might've been some skillchain or something. There is a new type of magic, "Green magic," that had Protect and Shell. A lot of the magic animations and sound effects were the same as FF11. The areas were really beautiful. And the monsters were large and crystal clear. Running around fighting stuff felt like I was playing FF11 basically.

As for DQ8, I am only a few minutes into it but I can already tell this game fucking owns. It's very smooth, very cool looking, controls are nice, battles are fun and I've heard they get pretty difficult. I haven't decided if I like the music yet, but I'll probably get used to it. I'm gonna get back to playing DQ8 now. I just wanted you guys to hear how good this game and demo are.

yea i'm about 25 hours into it and it's definately an excellent game

battle system is good, storyline is kinda generic but good nonetheless, graphics are good, music is good.

I've been playing DQ8 pretty much nonstop all week. As a fan of the series, I can definitely say I approve of this one. It basically feels like I'm playing a prettier version of any of the NES DQ's with a more indepth story; it's not as disgustingly easy as most RPGs nowadays. I like the combat, the music, pretty much everything about the game so far. Actually my only complaint is the stupid names for spells (Boom, Crack, Fizzle... no, I'm not kidding lol). If you liked any of the oldschool DW games go out and pick this one up.

As for the FFXII demo... it was weird... and very, very short. (finished both parts of it in 20 mins?) I dunno, I liked the familiarity of it (mandragoras, similar controls/feeling to previous games, etc) but I really hope it's not a rehashed X/XI, which is what is seems like. I swear if there is one crab monster in the game I'll toss it out the window. ;p

its a shame most of you are missing out on dq8. its in the same league as ff4, ff6, ff7, ff9.

It's a really good ... long game.

I know my roommate has put over 100 hours into it and he's not done with all the extra stuff (he beat the end boss at like 94 hours or something.)

I've put down XI quite a bit to play DQVIII, and I know I've got a looooong way to go to beat this game. But it sure beats doing nothing in Jeuno.

"new" characters as they all have same attitudes as differet chars from different places like saske and vegita....so gay(yes i know saske and vegita have nothing to do w/it)

i beat it a few days ago. i like how it has a half-hour-long interactive ending. and im pretty sure you can keep playing after you beat it, new area(s)
