Im interested to hear what people think of these machines and what ones they plan on buying.

Id like to get the x360 but to be honest, the price is just way to high and the games all suck right now. I only want it so I can see how it looks in 780p on my TV. Aside from that I cant find a reason to own one.

The PS3 has my interest but right now the system is going to be insanly expensive. With a price tag currently set at 500+ USD (like 650CND) and games running at 70USD (like 80CND) I just dont think its going to be in my price range. Especially considering I plan on moving out soon.
However the system does have Blue-Ray bult in and that means High-Def DVDs and god knows I want an High-Def DVD system. So I think I might start saving for it now (comes out like next christmas as a best guess)

The revolution is a for sure pick up. the thing that I really really hate though. This machine at the moment is not going to support HD TVs. Thats really really annoying. Nintendo complaned that only 1% of NGC owners used HD but thats because they only allowed people to buy HD cables through the online nintendo store. Still, nintendo is aiming to make a console that will once again be far cheaper than the rest. This console will not be nearly as powerful as X360 or PS3. Its more likly to be 3x more powerful then xbox(not 360). However, nintendo has put some patens down on some pretty crazy 3d rendering technology that uses insane texturing tricks to lower the poly count and give a better visual image at lower res. Something that "could" blow everyone away. I also love the idea that I can download any NES, SNES and N64 game as well as play any GC game on it. The new controller looks very cool also. I think its going to change console FPSs totally and I wouldnt be suprised if Rev became the next FPS console. Now combine all that with the estimated pricetag of 200ish USD and now we are talking.

mostly lookin forward to revolution and maybe ps3. 360 looks like complete crap atm to me. I'm not interested in how powerful any of them are. I played some 360 medal of honor at the local Gamespot on a plasma screen, and really wasn't impressed by the marginal improvement in graphics. Facial expressions and movement and crap still look like robots mostly. And wtf is with the 360 controller? it's like the exact same thing except a tiny bit smaller, an extra shoulder button or two, and it's white. Seems kinda cheap.

Pretty much comes down to games, so revolution.

I want the new fucking Zelda game to come out. Why would I buy a Revolution when I can play that shit on my GC. I want to know what new exclusive games are coming out for Revolution first. I am sure there will be some good stuff though since it is Nintendo. Xbox360 will have something come out eventually that will force me to buy the system.. I am sure of it. Same goes for PS3.... I will have them all.. just like I have all 3 of the current gen lol.

I really have no interest in xbox360. At all.

I will eventually get a ps3, depending on the price. I'm not going to spend more than $300 for a console. and if games are going to be like $70-80, well that's not cool either. So yeah maybe like a year after it drops I'll get one.

Revolution could be very cool, but it could also suck bad. The new controller is a bif "if", but Nintendo's always had good games for its systems, so we'll see. One thing that bothers me is that everything is moving towards 3-D. My favorite nintendo games have always been 2-D, and I wish some companies would try and recapture the magic of the SNES and NES classics. I'd cream my pants if they made another 2-D metroid or castlevania or final fantasy, etc. for the Revolution.

Rev so far has some games in development.

New Mario (rumored to be the Mario128 the next generation in mario games after mario64, so its suppose to be totally different)
New Smash Brothers (with online support)
New Metroid

Yeah Nintendo wanted to one-up the whole "Backwards Compatibility" feature every other console was sporting, so now the Revolution will be able to play every single Nintendo game in existance, pretty much, lol.

It's going to have a built in NES/SNES/N64 emulator and you will be able to download the ROMs directly from them. Not for free of course. Additionally you'll be able to put GC discs in and play them much like you can put PS1 discs in a PS2.

yea my thoughts exactly

i sorta lost interest with nintendo since most of the games i see for nintendo are all kiddy games (compared to my favorite series in playstation like gta, tenchu, nfs)
but now that you mention smash bros online... >.>

i was hella good at smash bros 64 and it is one of my fav games of all time

I wouldn't complain if I got all 3. But if I have to choose Revolution sounds like the best... it definitly looks better then the other 2 curvy unstackable things.

Of course all of the games are going to look "kiddy" compared to those since Nintendo is trying to be a family company I guess and the GTA games are just about killing people(I don't know anyone who's done all the missions)and don't they have need for speed on there?Unless you're talking about something else...

I don't care much about HD; I'm a college student, and can't afford to drop $1000+ for an HD set. Besides, by not electing to support HD, that makes the Revolution at least 100 dollars cheaper and can process graphics on the level of the other two, just, you know, not in HD.

You know, I've seen CoD2 on a big HD set, and I'm just not impressed. The difference between this gen and last gen (at least, between XB and XB360) is the smallest in the history of gaming. I agree with most others on this board in that the 360 offers nothing new, just rehashes of the same crap we've been seeing for years. No thanks.

I know far too little about the PS3 to make a decision on it yet. I may HAVE to get it for the exclusives (FFXIII, anyone?), and the price point is a major factor as well. I need more info.

The Revolution, of course, is a sure bet. If the system came out and they never released a single game for it, I would STILL buy it for the backwards compatibility. It's cheap, it's quiet, it's got all my favorite Nintendo franchises, and the controller has SUCH potential. Maybe one day I'll run into Thunderstomp in the Jedi Lightsaber Battle Revolution Online Tournament, and I'll fight him to the death, and it will such a glorious battle they'll have to air the rerun over CNN or something.

TS, pick up a DS and buy Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. Brilliant, and in 2-D, to boot. (And if you've never played Metroid Fusion for GBA, that too.)

And to those who disregard Nintendo for their "kiddie" image, you're just angry that we have more fun with green shells and banana peels than you do with your grenade launchers and AK-47s. I don't care if I'm "cool". Get over it.

W00t.

I'll be getting PS3, mainly because that's where all my favourite game series are going to end up. Devil May Cry, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, etc. And that's what it's all about at the end of the day, right? The games.

Every generation Nintendo throw out some exclusives that make me end up buying their console anyway, but not until a few years later when the console is cheap and I can grab all of the games in a bundle. Smash Bros, Zelda, etc.

Getting a 30 inch HD set for 800 that I'll probably bring to college with me.

They don't all have to be LCD or Plasma and cost 4k.
