Mistwalker Studios is making a RPG called Blue Dragon.

"The first of two epic RPG projects for Microsoft by Mistwalker, the studio founded by Square-Enix's Hironobu Sakaguchi. Blue Dragon features characters by designer Akira Toriyama, and tells the story of a young boy named Shu who has special adventure with hs two friends and a mythical blue dragon."

Wonder how it will turn out seeing as it has a lot of old Square talent making it. I don't like the artwork even though it is Toriyama. Would be nice if there were some actual screenshots of gameplay. Going to read more of the article. Supposedly the game will include a demo of Mistwalker's next RPG Lost Odyssey. Both games will be released in Japan before US.

Mistwalker has a few RPG's they are making. Another one is called Cry On.

I read some things about Lost Odyesse being delayed. I really hope it isn't would be nice to see it released within 4-7 months of Blue Dragon.

You do know Crono Trigger came out long before DBZ right? More like he carried his cool art style into the insanely retarded DBZ.

yeah lol i loved CT, just saying its really fucking lame that he rehased all the DBZ characters for a video game that takes place in a completely different universe.

Et, you know Dragon Ball started in like 84 in Japan or some shit >_> . Dragon Ball Z was create 10 years after and CT came out in 1996-97 I think. I'm not sure when he start working for Dragon Warrior, but it was probably before he started working again on DBZ.

And before saying anything bad about Dragon Ball, you shouldnt base your opinion on the tv show or 23958345345 spin off created from the series. The original manga is hilarious, and story isnt as bad as it sound on TV.

I forgot about original Dragon Warrior/Quest but games on NES the artwork really wasn't fully realized and neither was the style as far as in the actual games. I mean the manuals had art lol. SNES we started to see better representations of the artwork. I was talking about DBZ because I never watched DB and I don't care to. The DBZ TV show was bad enough when I had to work at AOL/Time Warner. They had CN with that show on almost 24/7 while I worked. I fucking hate DBZ.

Dude, I already made the disctinction in my last post. Learn how to read. Beside, DBZ still started before CT, even if they both came out around the same time period.

Anyway, talking about DBZ character without mentioning DB would be stupid. Bulma (who looks like Marle), that chick who look like Ayla (aylia..duh), Piccolo (magus), the Imp and probably a couple are in the series since the beginning.

The eyes, the ears and the chin are practically identical. Skin color and hair are the difference, but that's not much considering most of those traits (especially the ears) are unique in their respective series.


Anthon, I'm seriously doubting about your brain being able to do any form of abstraction or thinking. You first start by complaining about him using similar character, then cry as soon I start comparing two characters who are according to many look alike. I don't see what you're trying to prove, but you should at least try to make sense.


That said, what's the problem with an artist using similar style for different work? Do you want me to get Amano design for FF6 and FF9? I still cant tell the difference between Celes and Zidane...and Terra for the matter. Toriyama style is pretty simple, and unless he start drawing something completly different, his character will always look alike. Beside, while the fast look alike, Toriyama is also the one who design clothes and battle stance for different situation. Even if the face is identical, those trait might be more unique for a particular character.

You started by pointing out Et said DBZ instead of DB for no apparent reason when the point I was trying to make was totally different.
Your 2nd post about Picollo vs Magus was basically saying "lololol you stupid" when you bring absolutly nothing to support your opinion. If you want to make point, go ahead, but defend them with more than one sentence.

Think what you wants. I read DBZ years ago and liked it, and I'm not hiding it for sure. As for being a fan? I don't think so. I know about nothing about the series beside what I read (hey, I had to check date on wikipedia before posting to be sure). I do think DBZ is overated, but just because it's overated doesn't mean it's bad.

If you want to hate Toriyama, go ahead and do it. But if the only reason you have to do so is the fact his character face are pretty similars, you're just doing reverse fanboyism.

It can take more than 10 pages to power up Only difference is there is one picture per page and it take about 3 sec to read, instead of 22minutes (-5minutes of "in the last episode", added to another -5 minutes of "in the next episode", and finally, 10 minutes of flashback within the episode.
