I would have to say Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow for the DS. I got a DS and Castlevania: DoS for xmas and I beat it between xmas and new years. I know that's cutting it pretty close, but hey so what lol.

Image

things I liked about it:
- 2d side-scrolling awesomeness
- badass main character
- challenging gameplay
- cool looking enemies, especially bosses
- lots of different unlockable modes

What was your favorite game of 2005?

Call of Duty 2

Call of duty was an impressive game to start with and this game did an amazing job of carrying over the franchise and giving it an updated look and feel while not making it a simple clone.

Although I think Mega Man X8 is a very close second. I havent had that much fun since Mega Man X

as ts expects i have to go with dq8
its the first single player rpg that had the ff4/5 feel since ff9, memorable characters (other than the main char), pretty world, fun battles, interesting story, etc.

1. Resident Evil 4
2. Mario Kart DS
3. Shadow of the Colossus
4. Soul Calibur 3
5. Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow

Honorable mention to Phoenix Wright: Attorney at Law, We <3 Katamari, and Electroplankton (which comes out in the US on January 9th, but I imported it)

i dont play very many games but...

burnout3
starwars battlefront 2

burnout 3 is one of the most fun games i have ever played, the graphics are great and dramatic, you touch the other car and sparks go everywhere! you crash into the other car and you both blow up and go flying 50 feet into the air car parts everywhere your car is spinning and flipping at a rate you cant calculate and you can hear crashes going on from below... by the time you land and hit the pavement the scene looks like armageden and you have the after touch boom thingy, so you hit triangle and BAM! all over again, but this time with 6-7 other cars...

thats how i want to die...

but yea tehre is way more to the game than just crashing, the racing aspect was amazing to, its all fast paced and you dont have to worry about hitting signs and getting totaled...

I'd say Resident Evil 4 is the only game that truly hasn't disappointed me this year. Tales of Symphonia was decent.

Favorite games of all time... Illusions of Gaia, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and Metal Gear Solid are definitely up there.

Tales of Symphonia was also released in July, 2004.

I give up, I vote for Super Mario Bros. 3 and Ocarina of Time.

RE4 was mid-January, 2005.

And it totally rocked.
