The single most destructive blow to any one guild or online MMO group, totaling in losses around 16,500$ US dollars. Another story was posted on Allakazham that found its why here about another group where someone had stolen several billions of dollars, but that can hardly top this. This is probably old news to some, but god damn if this ain't the hardest of the hardcore MMO drama. http://www.mmodig.com/?p=155 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I thought about getting in to Eve a long time ago, long time before I played FFXI, when I heard about it being developed, however, the game seemed far too cold and depressing the more I read about it. |

Arim, they got pwned. Hardcore. These mercenaries just invaded a big corporation that supposedly had illegal dealings or something and they stole 20 million or billion from them and inflicted another 30 billion in damage. that's hardcore lol |

Another really compelling story out of EVE. Remember that scam story posted awhile back? I think it originated from an SA goon? |

EvE is fun, its really hard to get into though, as all it advancement is based on RL time since you started playing and the amount of money you have made. No lvls in this game babay! So basically someone whos been playing since it came out is always going to much more powerful than you (unless of course they didn't develop combat skills and went with someother branch, but as a general rule, yeah you'll lose)) |

Yeah, EVE is probably the most advanced MMO there is, in a certain way. Everything is run by the players, and I mean everything. Tried it for a while, and as said, it's hard to get into. ;x |

this is kinda scary. these people sound like they take things way too seriously. I mean, "assassination contracts," lol?? sounds like these people have totally lost a grip on reality. I swear, MMOs will be the downfall of society... |

I can only imagine most of these stories are heavily fabricated. Eve has been that "great game no one plays, so lets run media on it every few months to get people to play it" game since Anarchy Online went to free play. |

that's like the greatest MMORPG invasion ever done EVAR. my friend was telling me about it a few months ago, lmao. the only thing I could compare it to to make sense for people who dont understand would be the new Splinter Cell: Double Agent, except instead of one spy those guys had a shit load more |

No one plays Eve I imagine because it seems like Eve about ganking/killing other players to get ahead. So, I'm not suprised to see the ultimate mega-gank happen on Eve. Besides, Eve has also been out far longer than FFXI, its a really old game as far as MMOs go and never got that good publicity. However this story got so much coverage because that guy lost 16,500 U.S. dollars in in game funds. Thats literally the irl equivalent of robbing a bank and it being perfectly legal. |

I think its the fact that people either have jobs or schools that keep them from pulling these mega-stunts. |

It took me over a day to realise this wasn't about some in game people hacking the developrs server to steal 20 billion dollars from them in rl money. |

if it was that, you'd have heard about it when it happened in the news or something |

It doesn't take any thought/planning to be the guild bank and turn around and sell everything. That's just lying/ninja looting, any retard can do it (and they often do, maybe on a smaller scale though). |

2 and 1/2 years of non-active play and 1 full year of active play into this game; i still play it today and i still see 23,000+ people logged in on a week night. This game still amazes and i have absolute fun on a daily bases; even when i loose 100mil worth of equip when my battleship is popped. This game is very complex and unique, combinations to what you can do are endless. I can't wait 'till i get home tonight and log to play, even if its just for a few hr's. |
