In japan its going to cost 220$ when converted in usd. They mentioned for the us it will be no more than 250. So its either 249.99 Usd or $199.99 which is what i think they'll do. Why do i say that? Nintendo wants to seperate it self from the others so it wouldn't make sense to release the system at 249.99$ Remember already that for 50$ more you can get an xbox 360. And since consumers are stupid already Better looking games = more fun. Which is untrue. Anyway besides that though its an itchy price position. So i think nintendo is really leaning toward 199.99 |

Yeah without being packaged with a game I would hope for $199. $249 wouldn't kill it, but Wii would have to come with something than just the system itself. The Xbox360 that is $299 is the piece of crap Core system. Damn... Xbox360 for 400 + a Wii for 200 would equal the price of a PS3 lol. That is if 360 doesn't bring its price down before PS3 launches. Wii should launch with Mario or SSBB if its going to be 250. |

SSBB isn't going to make launch date, it was said at E3 during the super special "we won't let anyone know but you" meeting that night they showed snake in the game. So its probaly gonna be launched with mario, which is still hot. |

yea thats exactly what nintendo doesn't want to do. And since it's gonna be selling for 220$ in japan when converted to us currency. I see it being a very good chance to sell for 199$ |

Sorry, Mikey, but your facts are a bit off. Quote: "At a news conference in Osaka, Nintendo senior managing director Yoshihiro Mori said the Wii would sell for 25,000 yen ($220) or lower in Japan and $250 (£133) or lower in the US."
The Wii is $220 or LOWER in Japan. This announcement means next to nothing, since Nintendo stated earlier that it would be $300 (US) or less, but there was no way in hell they'd sell it for as much as $300, so. It'll either be $200 or $250, but $200 is the sweet spot. I hope Nintendo realizes this. |

Yeah $199 would definitely sell me on launch I think, especially if the Wii edition of The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess and Mario Galaxy are out at Wii launch. Not totally sure if I want to get another Metroid game. |

I did say the in the us they would sell it for no more than 250$ Meaning that would be highest max price they'll go However with them selling it at 220$ at lanch in japan. It can be very possible they'll release the system at 199$ in the us. They mentioned the highest they'll go is 250$.. How am i wrong when i said it already lol Converted from the price they gave in japan, it equals to 220$ Japanese companies get away with selling newly released electronics for higher prices than there american counter parts. Fact is they're willing to pay higher prices than the cheap but heavy quantity buying americans |

I really hope Twilight Princess (Wii Version) has both motion-controlled and standard controls (on a GC controller) on the same disc. I'm not sold on the new mechanics, because they were added into a game that wasn't built from the ground up for them, and most people at E3 said they were unnatural. This game was meant to be the final hurrah for Nintendo's old way of playing games, and that's sort of how I want to play it. Mario Galaxy isn't confirmed for launch, but not denied, either. Personally, I doubt it. Red Steel, Twilight Princess, Trauma Center, and Super Monkey Ball at launch for me. |

I'm more excited for Twilight Princess than any of the new consoles or games. Caaaaaant wait. I didn't even know about the Wii version of Zelda. That sounds awesome. If the Wii costs $300 american on release, I'll still be in line to get it. I didn't know it was going to be this cheap. Nintendo > all. |

If you get a job do you want to split the price of a Wii or do I get to pay for it all and not let you play it? |

Sorry, Armani, but at E3, Nintendo announced two separate SKUs for Twilight Princess...one for Gamecube, and one for Wii. I assure you. Mikey, you were "wrong" only in that you said that 25,000 yen ($220) was the solid, confirmed release price for the Wii in Japan. This was not true; they merely stated it would be that much or lower. |

I think i can sum this thread up in a quick and final way. Nintendo will be the cheapest system, followed by the xbox 360 and then add both those together and you can buy your ps3. Thread summarized and complete :-p |
