Apparently it's selling out in quite a few places. I was expecting to have more money right now than I do, so I probably won't be upgrading for awhile yet. But who has one and how do you like it?

I got one on Sunday. I think its nice so far. The screen is bright and it is small enough. I bought New Super Mario Bros to go along with it. It is a kickass game so far. Going to have to spend more time playing the DS Lite to judge it better.

I'm sticking with the one I have for now, I only play tetris and mario kart on it anyways, and the lite only comes in one color, which is kinda dumb imo.

I bought DS lite since nintendo just gave up on gameboy. I was gonna buy a normal one but in jersey we have hot girls working at gamestop, and when they ask you to reserve something, you reserve it to get them a point for the week. I have the new mario, metroid hunters, tetris, and advance wars. Kinda feel like an asswipe buying a brand new system and playing old series on it, but that's nintendo's fault. The screens are very bright and easy to see, and the system has great sound. Sadly I'm a computard so I don't know how to make my wireless router actually spit out a wireless message, so I can't play wi-fi yet, but it seems cool. I'm looking forward to FF3 and I want to try out the castlevania, new zelda coming in november too. I'd really like to see a third Golden Sun, that series made me get GBA, an online battle arena mode would be kickass. I don't mind that it only came in one color because I really wanted a white one anyway. My original gba was white, and I didn't buy Sp til they made the NES designed one. So far so good.

My little brother got one...I have the normal one. It's a lot brighter, and overall much cooler/better than the original.

I wouldn't waste my money on buying one if you own the first version. But if you don't own any sort of DS there's no reason not to buy it.

I'm in love with my DS Lite. I prefer it to my old version by far. And for some reason, my WiFi works on this one, when it didn't work on the previous model for me. I can now get schooled in Mario Kart by 10 year olds. Uber.

I've been playing tetris for years on this keychain tetris lol, the board is only 8 blocks wide, I'm getting my ass kicked readjusting to the full size 10 wide grid.

Pretty sure handhelds wouldn't have regional restricions such as PAL etc. I thought that had to do with the TV signal when dealing with console systems. I could be mistaken of course.

DS and GBA do not have restrictions but psp does pretty sure

PSP's games are not regional encoded, however its UMD movies are.

Regional coding has nothing to do with NTSC/PAL etc, my UK PS2 can output NTSC (many UK console games allow you to choose NTSC/PAL when they first start up) to my PAL TV which also supports NTSC. It's an artificial restriction placed upon the game/movie/etc to prevent it being sold outside it's desired market. To prevent loss of money due to importing.

Handheld consoles aren't region encoded. I'm not entirely sure of the real reason why they aren't, but whatever, lol.

However you'll find that the games themselves are. What this means, basically, is that you can import consoles and games for handhelds as you like, but if you don't match them up correctly, you'll find that Multiplayer does not work.

EG: Me and a friend both have UK PSPs, he has a US GTA copy, I have a UK GTA copy. Both games work on both consoles, however they can't detect each other for multiplayer at all.

It was like that on GBA, and I'm 95% sure it's like that on DS too. Of course Nintendo WiFi is probably a little different, since it's intended for world-wide play.

Black DS lite doesn't look right. Don't think black one will surface in US for awhile, since the police here mistake random black handhelds for guns. And sometimes pears.

Both. The American polar white DS Lite was released in Japan (1980 yen), and costs more than the crystal white DS Lite (1680 yen) they already have. If the white is different somehow, I'll be damned if I know. So, basically. You're paying 30 bucks to import it and 30 bucks because it's black. And, typically the prices are rounded up for Europe and Australia, so what they buy is more expensive to begin with.

Not worth it for a different shell that you can pick up for like at most 10 bucks if you're so inclined and install it yourself. But I wouldn't reccomend that at all.. Haha. Fuck up your warranty.
