Post subject:  Castlevania: SotN to Xbox Live

August 3, 2006 - Fans of the first PlayStation's vampire shredding Castlevania: Symphony of the Night will be glad to know the game is soon to make a reemergence. According to what Konami told us today, SotN will be releasing onto the Xbox Live Arcade sometime this winter. Whether that means it'll show up late this year or early in 2007, Konami couldn't say. Microsoft's approval process for products appearing on Xbox Live is somewhat extensive, so it's difficult to pin down an exact date.

In terms of price or extra features offered in the Xbox Live Arcade version, Konami wouldn't say, other than they're working on it. Fans of the PS1's platforming classic will be happy to know that more details will be revealed later this month at a Konami event. Until then, we'll keep you updated on any more developments.

Could it be possible that we're finally getting the real version of Symphony of the Night released in Japan for the Sega Saturn so many years ago? My fingers are crossed, and if this sort of content for XBox Live continues, I may just find myself picking on up. Or stealing one from someone's house.[/url]

he's half right lol.

The sega saturn had a couple more maps that the ps1 didn't have included. It also allowed you to use Maria as a playable character. I believe it also had a couple more weapons and a few new extra bosses in there for the mix. I wouldn't label it as missing half the game. I'd call it more of a Directors cut or some shit.

Its still an excellent game in its own right. I just can't believe not enough people actually tried the game out. It alongside with metal gear solid 3 and xenogears and of course ZOE are some of the best games i've ever played.

Nah, Mikey, you actually chose to play the entire game as Maria or the entire game as Alucard.

every decent RPG should be ported to the DS, or remade like FFIII.
