Strong rumors are leading towards Eb and gamestop will be doing limited pre orders for the ps3 tomorrow 10/10/06. Keep an eye out. I'm not exactly if this is true but, if you signed up on ebgames and gamestop for preorders online you should get an an email tomorrow.

most preorders (in usa anyways) only have to be $5 down w/o having to buy. I usually get one every time I go in 'cause they never shut up about it.

it might as well be a gamecube 2... seriously, why even make a system that is moderately better than what they currently have? the whole purpose of "next-gen" is to have next-gen hardware, not something that is a little better than what they already have out.

Wii is about twice as powerful as a GAmeCube and slightly more powerful than an Xbox.

The biggest problem in the video game industry is that people expect a "next gen" system to have double the visual effects as the last gen. Nintendo isnt stupid, they know that trend is going to hit a wall very soon. They also know that as the price of a system goes up, the userbase goes down.

I bought Wii because its going to be the most fun. I dont need to see the zits on my characters face, what I need a whole new way to pull me into the game.

yea yarr is right. The wii is basically as powerful as an original xbox. In all honesty the xbox wasn't really fully utizlied * spelled that wrong* You saw some games maybe use it well, like fable and halo, But really it wasn't really pushed.
I can though honestly see the wii being pushed. In fact the games actually look pretty good. And really can you tell a huge difference? Some games look good yea. But how much more different do they really look?
I borrowed chromehounds from a friend, i gotta say its pretty ugly lol. In reality it really isn't the graphics that save the game, its really how fun and enjoyable it is in the long run.

Nintendo has learned how to make games look really pretty without compromising framerate or having to have a monster machine to run it. Zelda looks gorgeous, as does Mario (an example would be adding seams and patches of colors to Mario's overalls to give it a more textured look). Honestly, I don't care. Elebits looks great to me, too.

K i failed. I wasn't able to get my hands on the ps3 preorder.

I'm extremely sad. LOL

You were going to buy one? Its hardly worth the price, if you own an HD TV its a little easier to rationalize the buy, but you dont even have an HD tv you cheap jew.

You can get smaller LCD screens that will do 1080p for cheap, but the TVs are garbage quality.

I too have a 360 with no HDTV which sucks. Fuck getting a PS3 without one lol. I get 1 large annual bonus in March, and plan on buying a 1080p TV and a PS3 then. TV will be cheaper and PS3 will be more available then. I'll most likely enjoy the Wii more anyways Wii needs to hurry and come out!!!
