I was just curious if anyone else was going to get Contact for NDS since you can upload people's characters as NPCs into your own game if you have their friend code. Figured it'd be interesting to try out if anyone was interested.

I was thinking about... provided I have the money.

Which i dont. So, no.

Bleh, still have games on hold I need to pick up, but car repairs are severly delaying them.

Fuck Virginia and it's need to have cars fixed before registration is available! God, I miss loose-lawed Florida. ; ;

Well, the game doesn't come out til Friday since there was some sort of shipping problem. So you have at least a week before it completely disappears from the face of the Earth. lol

It's not going to be for everyone. Here's a blurb about the reception of the game from Wikipedia:

Gamebrink qualified the game with 9.0 points out of 10.0, comparing the statistics and level systems to games like Oblivion.[12] The site praised the story, job system and, especially, the music, but defined the battles as "fairly shallow."[13] On the other hand, the game recieved a 6.5 out of 10 in the November 2006 issue of Nintendo Power. Its major complaints were that the game was "frustrating because your objectives are often obtuse and unintuitive and the game can be brutally difficult."

In other words, it's going to probably be a cult classic. It takes its cue from Earthbound. Though I don't remember the game being hard.

Yea, Earthbound was brilliant. I still have my copy with the giant freakin' box. It was like, the only SNES game that came with a guide. I remember the marketing thing with the smells too. Haha.

So Contact is supposed to come out today? I've been reading gamefaqs forum on it, and people seem really frustrated with the release date moving. I found some screenshots and the game looks cool. Kinda looks like Earthbound.

Contact is out, but I don't think that Gamestop/EB has gotten their shipments yet. So. Best case scenario they get it later today. Worst case, they don't. lol I lost my freakin' AC adapter for my DS Lite, and have to buy another one. So annoying.

Suck, lol...

btw, Earthbound for NES still works over here. XD Well, if you even knock the damn thing a bit, it'll erase the saves... But, yeap, still playing. :p

It's a pretty good game. The focus on it is mostly in customization of the main character, and not really on combat. You could say that it plays like FFXI in terms of battle. Since you iniate battle mode with B, and then walk into proximity of the enemy. But you can use certain abilities depending on the weapon you have on, and what costume you're wearing. There's about a million different weapons with different abilities, and 7 or 8 costumes. The music is really really nice, but some of the sound effects are lacking. And the graphics are a hybrid between different 16-bit sorta of graphics. The game has alot of depth in all areas but the combat system. The story is neat, but I haven't gotten too far yet.
