So you know how in final fantasy that Tarutaru are best choice for BLM
and Galka for Monks,... and so on

well is there that same concept in this game about races and classes?

Erm....

Do you mean like small people being good at magic and big being good at melee?

There aren't are completely gimp race/class combos in this game, like a Galka SMN or a Taru MNK. Obviously each race can only choose certain classes though, that's pretty much how it's divided.

Each race has different racial traits, but they're really just bonuses, and don't really directly affect what class you are anyway.

There's a small difference in stats I think but it doesn't add up like in FFXI. If one race has 3 more STR at level 1 they will have 3 more STR at level 60. I could be wrong on that though.

All races have 3-5 or so classes available to them. Some class choices are very limited to races, because the game follows a set story and belief and can not bend it(Night Elves are the only alliance Druids, no other alliance race can play druid because Night Elves are the ones adept to it).

Most melee jobs are open to most races. Gnomes are better at magic, Dwarves and humans share strengths and weaknesses in melee jobs. Night Elves are great druids, and strong rogues and hunters. Dwarves are very good Hunters who are adept "naturally"(by story) to the job.

At the end of the day, if your race CAN play the job, they can probably play it just as well as any other race. Player skill is much more important, as well as equipment(not like FFXI where you needed millions to catch up. Just be up to date in gear and you're fine).

On alliance side, it feels like:

Rogue-Dwarf/NE
Warrior-Dwarf/Human
Paladin-Dwarf/Human
Mage-Gnome/Human/NE
Warlock-Gnome/NE
Hunter-Dwarf/NE
Priest-Gnome/Human/(NE)

As you can see....all races can play 4 of the classes with signifigant strength and value.

Now, on other issue, different races are tilted to bringing about their character's talent tree in different aspects.

Dwarven hunters begin the game in full base armor and with a rifle. They have a natural bonus to marksmanship with guns. This leads them to go down the "marksmanship" talent tree, instead of survival or pet skills.

Orc hunters begin the game with a pair of pants and an axe. They have a natural bonus to pet damage. This leads them down the pet skills talent tree in order to strengthen their pets to strengthen their attack power further. I believe NE would fit the Survival set better, but that's just personal opinion. All races can accomplish Survival just as well because it's a middleground of just...not dying when being attacked and too close to the mob to shoot it.
