Need some advise... i dont know which to pick up between a Night Elf Hunter or a Human Paladin.

Hunter:
- Range attack
- Can use almost all weapons, 1h, 2h, gun and bow
- Pet
- Lv 40 mail armors

Paladin:
- Buffs spells
- Heavy Armors
- Cant use range weapons
- Free mount
- Aura for party

Think Paladin is a good thing for party and high lvl char.
I dont know about the hunter for a high lvl char, must be like the beastmaster...

depends on your game play style, paladins do a bit of tanking and alot of buffing up + some healng

hunters do nice dmg and their pets can tank well but they require quite alot of food so fishing is good to do with them, hunters are expensive to use and they require alot of skill to use effectivly (ie not stealing the hate onto themselves)

overall depends if you want to be all rounded, buffs, dmg, tanking, healing or explore id say hunters are the real exploring class in the game. also tehy tend to pick the targets out.

well, to summarize each class:

hunters arent very good soloers, especially towards the middle and end of the game where they can barely solo something their own level. in comparison, paladins can solo throughout the game fairly easily, and their healing spells are auras (some are still existant as spells) have to be the most usefull solo abilities in the game. imo, hunters are just another damage dealer with some useful abilities (i.e. sting) while paladins arent so great at damage dealing, even though their aggro-holding is quite stable.
thats pretty much the smallest summary i could make without leaving the whole class out, gl!

I disagree on pld agro holding is stable. I don't know how high end game is but up to mid 20s, pld in pt is weak when it comes to agro holding.

I've been pt a lot since late 10s to mid 20s on open beta. A lot of time we'll have 2 pld, 1 hunter, 1 mage, 1 priest. However, if you think with that set up we'd have it easy, you are wrong.

It could be all of the plds that I met suck really bad or it's just their ability is weak. PLDs agro = good before shield + renew from priest. After that, everything goes to hell.

But to answer the original question: Hunter = more party oriented, PLd = great soloing decent in pt if they know what the heck they are doing or have a warrior.

where did you hear that hunters can use all those weapons.. EVERY class stgarts with like 2 weapon types they can use. My dwarven hunter can only use one handed axe and a gun. My tauren hunter could only use one handed axe and a bow.

but you can go learn weapon skills that any class can, so pretty much every class can learn any weapon.

That's not correct. Each class is still limited as to the available weapons they can use. Some start with a base weaponskill, For Example, Mages start with Base Staff, and can "learn" Dagger and sword. Warlocks on the other hand start Base Dagger, and can learn Staff and ???.

Regardless, you can't just use any weapon. Your class determines what you can use.

I'm not the authority on this but I'm going to say Paladin is easier than hunter, because a Paladin can be somewhat effective in a party just using auras, which is a no-brainer.
