I feel that WoW was *made* for PvP. Specifically because Blizzard said it was. I enjoy playing games the way they are designed to be played, not in watered down versions.
On relation to affecting gameplay....you will be able to raze and burn buildings to the grounds. They are also implementing seige weapons to hold cities in lockdowns.
So your hometown will be leveled because some guys didn't *feel* like fighting, but questing? That's not realistic.
