That rocks. That totally looks like the raid mode in EQ. Their problem is that they have too few druids. I can't wait for the retail release

You start doing instances in your 20's. Most of the cool loot you'll get out of instances, which solves the problem of camping certain highly desireable spots. We can all do them at the same time :)

Btw, you guys are way oversimplifying the classes. Each class varies quite a bit based on how the talent points are spent. Sure a Paladin could play the role of utility buff a la BRD, but is hardly limited to that alone.

Warriors can be tanks and hate magnets, but they can also put out quite a bit of damage.

Mages can be mega damage dealers (fire mage) or they can be more of a crowd control/enfeeble type (ice mage).

Anyone who has played Diablo 2 or City of Heroes should be familiar with how there are many builds within a single class. Can't really speak about how it compares EQ... never played that. I was still in my "hell no, I'm not paying a monthly subscription fee" phase back then.

most classes wotn be alike player to player anyway.. b/c they're talent trees which is awsome imo.

For certain classes it will be, for some, it won't.

Priest for example even though you have 3 choices from the talent tree, most end game priests are going to be the holy priest.

As for PLD, yes, they tried to fix it, but still pld is an utility class at this point. Warriors still has taunt, it just isn't as effective as before. Again, it's from the newest patch and a lot of classes got screwed. But sorry to tell you this, a druid in bear form holds better agro than a pld.

I don't really think paladin is supposed to be a tank class in this game.. I like it as a utility melee. So far it's really really fun. I've actually yet to find a class that isn't fun to play as.

im kind of interested in this game, i saw some videos/screenshots/journals about it, it seems kinda fun.. i was looking at priest, since thats what i am in FFXI, and i got a couple questions for those who have played it..

how does it compare to ffxi? leveling, questing, grouping, crafting, etc etc what are the differences and which is better?

would u recommend the game for advanced MMPORGers? is it advanced enough to keep interest or is it too straightforward?

i guess what im asking is should i buy WoW and play it.. is it different enough/better then FFXI to be worth buying/playing maybe not instead of FFXI, but playing it a lot

There is less XP grinding, and more of an emphasis on finding quests that weild items and XP, and PvP battles.

There can never be a time without something to do, which is my draw. No waiting for anything.

Paladin I think is kinda like a back up tank. I play a shaman also and when I cast some of my damaging spells I pulled the aggro from the War in my group. But as shaman I have no spells (yet) to stop the enemie to heal myself when needed. The paladin gets a couple of these spells, and has helped me outta some tough jams many a times.

I'm not sure where but my bro. just told me today that some website rated WoW as the Best MMORPG of all time. I think maybe it was gamespot.com. Doesn't look that great to me(well the graphics), but I wish I tried out the beta :(

OUCH. MUST NOT FLAME MUST NOT FLAME MOST NOT FLAME.

It's so tempting to flame you because of what you said about the graphics. They're so freaking amazing they make me want to cry.

Oh, do you play Halo 2 by chance?
