I think FFXI is expectin some players to leave for WoW and EQ2... they are hoping players will return.

This is a courtesy notice to help clarify several points about FINAL FANTASY XI Content IDs and PlayOnline accounts.

If you wish to suspend your FINAL FANTASY XI play only temporarily, please cancel your Content ID rather than your PlayOnline account. If you cancel a Content ID, the corresponding character data will be stored for ninety days without any recurring charges. After the ninety-day period has passed, the character data will be deleted and cannot be recovered.

You can extend this period by reactivating the Content ID and then cancelling it again; your character data will then be stored for an additional ninety days. However, please note that the usual monthly charge will apply for the month in which the Content ID was reactivated.

I noticed a hugh drop off on the FFXI servers. I see an avg of 2k players on line most of the time nowadays... I wonder if it will remain the same or drop even more once WoW goes retail. A lot of kids will have to choose between one or the other because mommy said so

WoW beta has as many people now as FFXI peaked at.

Not saying much, as it's free...but still

A lot of people right now are using the beta as a free trial, as such. They may return, its just a matter of playing the game to death while they can do it for free.

Of course, a lot of people (especially from here it seems) intend to go there permanently, and they will be missed.

change is always good though, i mean most of us have played ffxi over a year now, pretty much the same old song and dance if u think about it. Of course you would feel the same way about any game haveing played it for a year. WoW just happens to be the next thing on the list to try out.

I could have played both if I wanted, it's just that FFXI is a waste of my time, and I get absolutely nowhere when playing. I've been for exactly one year on this day [11/15] , and i'm only a 61DRK. I've also played WoW and I find it alot more fun, and it's so easy to get exp/make money (With no downtime). I don't see a need to waste more money on a game that i'll play a small amount of time and get no where, being that DRK have to lfg for 5 hours to get a shitty group.

ya.. ive seen a couple people leave ffxi for WoW.. one of them being a good friend of mine . while it may only be for the beta, thats still too long

hah Itto I posted in that thread. They bash FFXI way too much lol. I do agree with the slowness of grinding, but nonetheless FFXI was great.

I stoped playing FF11 6 month ago, i was tire of the lvling... i like what Blizzard did for the lvling... u keep getting quest to kill mobs and in the same time u are doing your lvling... much more fun...

I find the graphic so great... the city and all the map are so well done... think that why i ll start again to play MMORPG.... hehe
