Gonna try to keep a thread for all of the possible pve players when retail comes out. We are still debating on the duo combination yet but we are for sure going to be on pve. So post here if you'd like to join us on the same server and maybe we can get a perm going or stuff like that. Right now we are going either as mage/mage or mage/priest. Mage/mage is very powerful at low levels but I don't know how effective at higher levels without a healer around. Mage/priest will be ok but the fire power is a lot weaker than mage/mage for sure. |

Definitely going PvE. My primary interest is getting on the same server as some other friends I have. There are about 30 of them going PvE. Ideally, that would be the same server as everyone here. Don't really want to lose touch with people if it's just a matter of coordinating which server to go to. I will be going Human Paladin. They work very well with mages, especially later in the game. Better question is: do we all want to try to form a guild and act like a cohesive guild, or just all go to the same server and play together when we can. |

I don't want to commit to any guild yet since I have friends will play pve from both FFXI and EQ days. It is the best to leave that option open for now. It'll also depend on how our schedule is like after the baby is here. I definately won't commit to a hardcore raiding guild if I don't have time to play daily. Forming guild won't be too hard as long as everyone is on the same server. |

No! Because 10% pvp = 90% pve or 90% I WONT PLAY THIS STUPID GAME in someone's book ![]() Stop hijacking my thread!! That's my specialty these days to hijack threads. |

If PvE means that you won't have PvP allowed, then that'd be the server type that I go to. Again, if I even play, it'll probably be influenced by some of my RL friends. But if they go to PvP, I either won't play it, or I'd go with those of you who would be doing PvE. As for the jobs, I'd be doing, I'd most likely be a Hume Priest, Mage, or Warlock. |

PvE still gets PvP contents. But you don't have to participate in it if you don't want to. I've seen horde invade alliance towns. If you wish to participate in PvP, you can heal, attack someone/npc in the pvp then you'll be flagged as pvp for a certain amount of time. I am not sure of the length of pvp flagged as I don't care about that feature. One of the benefits I see on PvE server is you don't have to be forced into PvP if you are just hanging out with friends and have a good time. You'll still have the option to go PvP if you wish. |

all i know is for a mage you can kill a mob before it reaches you in 3 shots however if you like 3-4 mobs your screwed without a healer around pref a priest cause paladins never seem to heal you. but at lvl 20 its great having pyroblast i can frequently get 300dmg with it thx to my +45 int heh as for PvE i doubt i will ive done some instances and they are good fun but id miss the PvP although soloing i like too so im at the 50:50 mark right now. |

I'm not 90% sure I'm going pve --- I'm 100% sure. I'll be playing a couple different jobs tho -- hunter/mage/war. I would love to be on server with people I know. Cyntari |

PvE for me too. Most of you guys playing WoW I don't know really well because I quit FFXI a long time ago, but I would love to party and quest with you all. I am a human paladin right now and I am really liking the job, but I still want to try out hunter (I've heard some bad things about a hunter's usefulness, but I partied with one last night and he and I kicked some ass, twas a good duo). So put me down for either paladin or hunter as my main. |

I'm also pretty sure i'm going PvE server... Probably Night Elf/Hunter (I don't like night elves too much, but shadowmeld is too cool) I tried the PvP aspect of a PvE server, and I still think its a lot of fun. Other than not being able to wail on some poor guy lvling by himself (10 lvls below me), It is fun to go after ppl with the pvp flag up. I think having the option to PvP is the better way to go... there are still large amounts of raids that go on, during PvE servers. Oh, and you don't have to focus your skills so much on how to survive by urself as much as you do on a PvP server. |

Well, I decided last night that I'm going back to FFXI. All of my friends are over there, and while this game is very fun, I can see myself losing interest in WoW pretty soon because I'm not really into all the soloing. You guys have fun! |

Can't say much about preferring FFXI since you know more people there and all. FFXI is still a better game IMO. Just that I've played it a ton and it is time to move on. WoW is kinda like FFXI in that you can easily (and are probably better off) solo in the early levels. When you get to the mid levels, you can still solo, but, things slow down significantly, and you are way better off in a party. High levels, you will get nowhere without partying. Maybe, call it a strength, maybe a weakness, but the fact that you can still actually solo in this game often leads people to not party. It does have a lot to do with your personality. I'll generally put the lfg flag up and try to get in a party. I've played the game a bit too much solo already, and it is a lot more fun partying with people. Being in a guild is even better ^^. |

Sean and I will be on CST server. So far, this game is a lot of fun just like EQ and FFXI newbie/low lvl days. We are both in our 20s now and I have to say, I really enjoy the game like I used to with EQ and FFXI. However, I do think this game won't last though. I really doubt any new game out there will be like EQ still have hardcore players play after release 4+ years. |

a dwarf hunter cna use a gun and an axe. thats it. Every job starts being able to use like 1 or 2 types of weaponry and any job can learn any weapon but it cost money to train the skill. |
Author: | Mythrandir [ Fri Nov 19, 2004 8:38 am ] |
Post subject: | |
That's partially incorrect. Every job has a list of additional weapons it can learn, but not every job has access to every weapon type (for example, Druids do not have access to Polearms). |
