Yes it seems they liked it alot to say the least. That is by far the highest score and best review they have ever given a MMORPG. I have to say after playing open beta I agree on most of their points. The game is immensely fun.

Only problem is since it is already able to be run in windowed mode.... and you can alt+tab you will have major hacks and cheating. I also heard a nasty rumor that some character data is stored client side.... I hope if it is that it will be hard to hack, because everyone will hack and cheat in a blizzard game. Other than that it was a really fun game and I felt like I accomplished something every time I played (unlike FFXI).

Well I hardly doubt important character data is stored client side, nothing that you would be able to alter your data with. Also Blizzard is VERY strict about hackers. They can tell who is hacking and cheating all the time. They have banned CD Keys from Diable and WC3 permanently for cheating. I have no idea how they know. Here is an example:

Starcraft and Warcraft III Accounts Closed
Tuesday, April 13, 2004

A number of additional accounts and CD keys have been tied to the use of a hack or cheat program while playing StarCraft or Warcraft III on Battle.net. In keeping with our aggressive stance against cheating, we have permanently closed 291,000 StarCraft accounts and 16,000 Warcraft III accounts. 6,000 of the Warcraft III CD keys used with the now-closed accounts have been banned from ladder play for one month, and 1,500 more have been banned from ladder play permanently. Repeat offenders risk having their CD keys disabled, which will result in the permanent removal of their copies of StarCraft or Warcraft III from Battle.net.

We will continue to monitor Battle.net for cheating and take action as needed. A false report filed by one player against another will not result in the actions described above.

As always, thank you for your continued support; with your help we have been able to keep Battle.net a fun and safe place to play Blizzard games.

There is one major difference...

Blizzard doesn't give a shit if they ban CD keys for Diablo or Starcraft. Battle.net is free. Once you buy the game, there's no more money getting sent to Blizzard from the player. So if you break some rule, of course they'll ban your CD key. They, in doing so, just reduced some of the costs for running that particular server.

FFXI/WoW, on the other hand, have a monthly fee. If you think Blizzard is going to be so quick to ban accounts that pay monthly service fees, then you have a much higher opinion for coporate ethics than I do. heh heh... It all boils down to money.

I'm not saying that Blizzard won't take action against cheaters, but if you have ever played ANY other blizzard game, you know that they are notorious for having tons of hacks. WoW won't be any different, and so if Blizzard is going to go out and ban each and every person they find cheating, they are going to lose a ton of money.

That's why you see things persist in FFXI, because it is a pay-by-the-month game. They lose 12 dollars a month every time they ban a fishbot, or whatever. Sure, it may not be the kind of thing you want to see, but S-E is a corporation. Blizzard is, too.

Ridere, this is WoW:

Bot-Using Accounts Banned - Indoflaven on 12/7/04
We have recently verified that certain individuals were using third party "bot" programs to automate their characters in World of Warcraft. A bot is used to play an account non-stop, allowing its user to accumulate money, items, and experience without actually requiring the user to be physically present to play the game. The use of bots is a violation of the World of Warcraft Terms of Use and is absolutely prohibited. Therefore, the accounts identified as having used bots have been banned.

Blizzard Entertainment is committed to maintaining an environment of fair play in World of Warcraft. As stated previously, the company has a zero-tolerance policy for cheating or hacking of any kind. Players caught using a bot program to automate any of their characters' actions will have their characters removed and their account banned. They will not receive a warning. Over 300 accounts have already been banned for offenses of this nature.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter. If you suspect someone of using a bot, or wish to report other instances of cheating, please email us at hacks@blizzard.com or submit a GM ticket in-game. Thank you again for your continued support.
