The quests for Armorsmith require something like 343 bars of mithril. Thats too much gold for me to buy it all. The best spots for mithril ive found is Charred Vale and in the Badlands where the dragons are. I haven't explored Tanaris except Gadgetzan, but i heard thats "The spot" for mithril. Where'd you get yours?

Southern Badlands (Ogres/ Elemental areas) and the northwest near elementals is good.

Also, A circle route around Searing Gorge hitting the 6-8 spots there is usually good enough for both sides to respawn. I got my ore in a 2 days, including all the armor quests plus making the armor to actually wear at level 40. Hang onto that truesilver, you need alot for the truesilver gauntlets and bp .

Theres many places that have a illustrated circle in the badlands that goes across the whole souther wall uturns between the two mountains to the s/w and then through the mountains in the middle and up to the n/e to run throught the dragon side and back down to the southern wall to repeat.. Works better then any other run ive tried.
