Post subject:  Our guild progress in Kil'Jhaeden

Well just thought you guys might want to know what I'm up to in WoW. We started out with a pretty small guild with just 3 level 60ers (me as one of them) and a bunch of lower levels. At the time i was more active in both dueling a lot and running instances, so I got 2 offers in the same day. 1 guild wanted to 'merge' with us that was larger than ours but wanting members, and another person wanted to bring 7 people into our guild with him...
Well, we got those 7'ish people and built up slowly, and even got a couple from that guild that wanted to merge with us, and we gained and lost members down the road.
Now we have a player base of over 100 people in our guild, and i think 50 or more of us are level 60 (haven't counted in a long time), with many in the 50's.

We just ran our first Molten Core raid today, i think some of old you FFXI'ers on the other WoW servers have done MC a lot already and have progressed pretty far right? Well, we got to Lucifron (first boss of MC), which isn't very far at all, and we just couldnt take him down, tried twice and gave up :(
But the thing is, I'm happy to have seen my guild progressed so far from basically a non-existant guild.

Anyways, just wanted to say if anyone wants a place to be welcomed to or switch up servers, we could use some good players (especially ones who want to play dwarf priests!) in our server and guild (alliance btw!).

I'll post a SS of us wiping to lucifron later, can you guys post your other MC boss pics? T_T

Similar to my guild.

120 memebers in the main guild, 54~ 60s. And a smaller under 40 training guild now.

The guild I was in, Tyranny (killed onyxia about 2 weeks ago btw) has about 70-80 60's last time I checked. They kick ass. Too bad FFXI is the game for me heh.

That's too bad. The dragoon must have destroyed your liking for ffxi

I cant stand having a guild over 40 people.

far to much work and you need lots of micro managment skills to keep it alive. Meaning you need a lot of officers who are willing to work as hard as you are, and have a guild willing to listen to them.

WoW is different that FFXI, yarr.

There can be 4 different raids happening simulataneously. Like Imagine CKD running 4 dynamises at one time. Only dynamises are much more of a task than a simple UBRS run or something

After a couple of failures in MC, we are trying to build a core of 40 players we enjoy can play their class. Last raids, we had tomake it public and ended up with morons that couldn,t listen to strats. I am now discussing of an alliance with anoher guild I like on Bronzebeard, and once we get enough, we should be able to go further in MC and push down Onyxia. Can't wait.

This new patch on wow will really kill raiding... since all the instances are going to be limited to 10 players except for a select few.

no it will make them alot more fun to do imo :)

Haha yeah, those population limits are really necessary, when ppl just zerged those instances, WoW became really retarded.

After all my playing I declare myself a PhD in WoW... I have come up with my thesis as the :

Limited Raid Intelligence Theorem. (aka Lemming Theory)

There is a limited amount of intelligence allocated to a raid group for each instance. And the more players there are, the less intelligence each person is allocated. Thus in large groups, players tend to react accordingly and turn into Lemmings. And in smaller groups with more intelligence adorned to each player, they in turn begin to lose the Lemming characteristic and turn into Players.

The thing I don't like about the 10 player limit is that it will force you to leave people out. Sorry, we already have 10, you can't come. That being said, I prefer to run Scholomance, Stratholme, and lBRS with 8; one of each class.

Guild wise, we're at about 50 people Horde side, mostly old longtime friends, and a few select very nice people we've met in WoW. 15 level 60's and another 5 or so getting close.

No, we're not a super power guild. Everyone does whatever they want to do and whenever someone helps you it's because they are your friend and they want to help, not because some guild leader or officer said they had to. We will never have the firepower to run an in guild MC or Onyxia, but, we can get in on those runs by delivering a block of 20 or so very skilled players. There was a time when I was driven to be the best and I was one of the very early level 60's on Alleria. I've come to realize that power gaming isn't a lot of fun for me and I just chill with my pals. We'll all get there, just not all that fast.

Alliance side is different. I have a handful of friends that I do almost everything with. I spend a lot of time there when there isn't much going on guildwise on the horde side. Lot of duo or trio on missions or sitting around chatting. Paladin is level 55 and will be starting to hit the high end instances soon.

I really like the instance limits. Players will have to use their skills instead of relying on the raid leaders and tanks. And honestly, 10 people were more than enough for Scholo and Strah already. UBRS can easily be done with 15. We even beat Drakkisath with 13 and only 1 priest. We were having it too easy for too long. This is a great move from blizzard.
