lol azn, sorry, but i got sick of DKP

That, and I wanted to try a new server as a new character :D

The irony is, I'll prob. end up in a guild with DKP for end raids, haha.

most high end raids loots always turn out to be distributed by dkp though but you and keli should come back and tell keli and selphia i said sup <3

Grats Tooyoo. I was fortunate enough to be in a Tribute run with some guildies when the observer and king both dropped a Foror's. Got my Quel that night on our first ever Onyxia killing......now if only they'd let Paladins tank..............something. Anyway go kick onyxia's ass so you can show off your big glowing sword. :mrgreen:

Merit > DKP if your guild leaders and members are unbias and trusting.

what is a merit system?

Is that when there are a few ppl that delegate loot (or one person), and this person would be fair, unbiased etc. looking out for the guild (like yarr)?

And yeah... you need a pretty tight guild first to have that system, if that's what merit is. That's the problem with WoW... first 60 levels you can almost do solo don't need many friends... hit lvl 60 and you need 39 other "friends" so its hard to have a tight guild rigth away, heh.

So... keli and I are running our DM north tribute... and ogre king drops Foror's compendium!!! The pally in our group passed thank god :D and we had no ninjas! So now I'm prob. the 3rd-4th person on the server to get the book Although, I'm not even onyxia keyed yet.. haha.... haven't even been to UBRS once. >< (I forgot to take screenshots in all the excitement of the drop, i've been drooling over this book for a while and contemplating saving up 2000G for it)

haha yeah, azn, its still a new server, so not that much gold in it... ALthough there is a TON more epics and gold than there was when Lothar was 2 months old. (all the farmers and gold buyers) There's an insane amount of gold buyers in the game, which is great, b/c we make sooo much money off them... I'm sure the price for foror's compendium will go up a lot more once more people are lvl 60.

Uh, it's not all that great... It just looks cool, that's about it. Sure, 13def is nice and all, but since it's a proc... Considering how hard/expesive it is to get, it doesn't impress me that much.

We'll prob. stick with warrior/priest now, its so much easier getting groups, and more importantly leading them around... Damn!! 2 books in one run? O_O hehe talk about lucky. Grats on your Quel Kane, I'm not in a guild that can even do onyxia keying yet, haha. There are 2 guilds so far on our server (on alliance) that can kill onyxia~, I just need the blood from UBRS to be keyed... and them some Guild faction to leech off one of their onyxia runs. :D

We used to use DKP, but we found it limited the progress of the guild to inner-guild arguments and spite, as well as unneccessary competition and unwillingness to "share" raid spots. We use Merit now, as it promotes more of a "play good and ye will recieve" attitude, and it allows us to gear up the guild better. We've attracted more people who just want to see end-game content than people who just want loot, so it's worked out. We killed Nef first on server, and 22nd world. We were 4th to kill Rag, then we switched to Merit(and we dominated world raid bosses, allowing us to gear up 1.3x faster with epics over all of the other guilds). We had every server first in BWL. Merit > DKP if your guild leaders and members are unbias and trusting.

Wish we could do a Merit system in my Paladins guild. Too bad they are so biased it's not funny. For example the Paladin class leader is a moron and hardly knows anything outside of spamming Holy Light to try to top the healing charts about the class...yet is now the guy who I have to listen to because he's been in the guild forever.

Greymane, its one of the newer PvE servers. (tried a pvp server before that, but ganking got boring, being ganked got annoying, and ranking up was impossible b/c all the hardcore players are on PvP, hehe) I think the server is about 2 1/2 months old~ Oh and I'm alliance.

part of what makes quel good for tanking is its speed faster the weapon, easier to get off heroic strikes

Like I said, we used DKP up until Rag down. Merit is officer-decided loot distribution. We have an officer for every class, 2 for a few. We have discussions and loot priorities(though some of these remain hidden for fear of the "well I'm not getting loot so I'll skip" players).
