Awesome special effects. I bet the movie is utter crap though. I have tons of Transformers toys in my parents attic still lol. I never watched the show past the original movie. Rodimus Prime pissed me off that much. Unicron was the best part of that movie. This movie will probably be all flash and no substance. Will be a fun summer popcorn special effects movie thats for sure.

a part of me is pissed because all these producers have been taking staples of my childhood which were all flashy and technicolor and are making them all drab and dark... Where's the "fun" element of these new movies? Since when is transformers and superman all dramatic and depressing? Yet they supposedly editted the frosty the snowman cartoon so he doesn't melt anymore... wtf?

I heard they were going to make the transformers very close to what they looked like in the cartoon series but it didn't "score well" with test audiences or someshit. It does look like a very cool action film, but the scenes make me think of something like starship troopers... not transformers. Along those same lines I can't help but feel like this is some glorified furry obsession or something.. just in that they're taking something childish and originally marketed for kids and turning it into something more "grown up" (i only hope that optimus prime and bumblebee don't start making out or someshit.)

it looks like it has the potential to be a really cool flick.. but I am getting sick of all these remakes looking so dark and having intensely dramatic storylines.. i used to watch all these cartoons to be midlessly entertained and not have to 'feel" anything.. just look at all the pretty pictures.. now that's been compromised so some hollywood studio can make bank by marketing it for multi-age groups... and I don't even want to think about the voltron movie.

anyway that's my wall of text opinion about the trailer.

I think it follows more towards the Transformers comics than the cartoon. That or the anime versions of Transformers.

The preview we saw there had mostly Villians. The only Autobots I saw were Bumble Bee (Yellow head) and Optimus (If you didnt notice him go kill yourself) the rest appeared to be bad.

wow the special effects look freaking great. definetely have to see this movie.....

The one thing constantly annoying me about that trailer is that meteor/pod touchdown >_< just seems a bit.... slooooow.

Other than that.... wow.

actually.. my mom watches this lame ass quiz/gameshow on gsn that's live and you call on your cellphone to give in answers and shit for a chance to win loot. The hostess was saying how she was watching frosty the snowman and he never melted then she was like "everything's so pc now, what's next? bambi's parents aren't going to die either?!" i loled. She seemed mad air-headish though, perhaps she just missed the part where he melts.

did you know that most of these series we grew up on.. the way the creators wanted it to be wasnt so happygolucky.. they had a really dark feel to them.. i thought the trailer was fucking awsome

I thought the meteor scenes were a bit on the small side. I thought in the cartoon they crashed into a mountain or volcano in a much bigger spaceship? From what I saw of that meteor crash they must be smaller robots or something until they get here and take the forms of larger vehicles. Of course, that wouldn't explain how Scorpinok(sp?) gets to be that big since scorpions are tiny. It might have been just a crappy viewpoint of the crash or it could've been a single robot escape pod. Maybe I'm way off, though.

If you watch the trailer carefully you can see the meteor start to transform (although I might be imagining this, maybe I should watch it again before I say that lol). , so I think the meteors are suppose to be the robot itself.

Yeah in the cartoon the Autobots crashed their ship into a Volcano.
