the nice law they over looked

from Customs Regs:
Before you try to import a firearm, weapon or device, please check carefully to make sure it's not prohibited. It is a criminal offence for any person to possess a prohibited weapon unless he or she is authorized to do so by law. Examples of prohibited firearms are fully automatic firearms (even if they have been altered to not fire automatically) and sawed-off rifles or shotguns where the barrel is shorter than 457 millimeters or 18 inches, and the overall length is less than 660 millimeters or 26 inches. Silencers that muffle the sound of a gun, knives that open automatically, pepper spray, throwing stars, spiked wristbands, blowguns, BRASS KNUCKLES, and stun guns are examples of prohibited weapons.
Something that shouldn't have been said.

Bill Anthony, a spokesman for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, said the Canada-born Despres couldn't be detained because he is a naturalized U.S. citizen and wasn't wanted on any criminal charges on the day in question.
Anthony said Despres was questioned for two hours before he was released. In the interim, he added, customs agents employed "every conceivable method" to check for warrants or see if Despres broke any laws in trying to re-enter the country.
Now, if I man is due to appear for a double homicide there is a note attached to his visa/ID to ensure his inability to leave the country. As it is custom for them to make a break for it seeing as how they face upwards of 50 years in prison (if no death penalty is used). This means 1) they broke regulations by letting him CONTINUE THROUGH WITH THE WEAPONS WHICH ARE ILLEGAL TO IMPORT FROM CANADA (see home made sword, and brass knuckles). The second being that there was a note attached to his ID stating he was not to leave the country. This means they didn't run crap, and most likely just let the police dog search the transport while just checking to see which country he was a citizen with.
I can imagine that GRUELING line of questions they must have asked the obviously unstable man claiming to be an assissan.
"Are you an american?"
"Yes"
"What is your business there?"
"I'm an assassin"
(1 hour 58minutes later)
"Well, you are a citizen of the united states sir. Have a nice day"
"Thank you *twitch twitch*"
I have money on it with some friends that if he had said he was a liberal at anytime they would have kept him. Anyone want to test by driving from canada to america with a truck full of weaponary, claiming to be an assassin, and if they try to let you go then mention being a liberal?
If so you could help me win about 300 USD.
