Not that I'm big into sports or anything, but I noticed some sports chat going on (baseball & soccer) and thought I could just make a sports thread, so that way all of you cool people who are too cool for sports can just never read this thread and not miss anything at all.

Boston is about to tie up the series 3-3. Yankees are slipping--

Baseball sucks, its boreing as hell (fun to play though, every now and then) Football on the other hand....
Now, I am talking about American Football (NFL), not soccer, or not that wussy Canadian Football. Anyone else enjoy watching it? GO RAIDERS!!

I'll take my chances with the Rams this year.

The only sport I really liked to watch was hockey, but the Rangers suck, so. I sorta stopped. Haha.

Hockey = happiness. Unless its on TV, then it usually sucks.

Major League Baseball can go to hell. Bud Seilig is spineless and lets the players control his league. Hockey games are fun as hell to go to, especially when players get slammed into the glass right in front of you. College football also kicks major ass (Florida State fan, go Noles!).

But nothing beats the NFL as far as live sports experiences.

Go Jacksonville Jaguars!

Die Hockey die!!

I don't like hockey at all but K loves Dallas Stars. I only watch it because K likes it and Mike Modano is hot. Before I met K, I watched baseball (TX rangers), basketball (Dallas Mavericks), football (TTU, UT, TXA&M and Dallas cowboys) and figure skating. After I met K, I stop watching basketball and baseball since those really bore him to death lol.

Hockey is amazing. I can listen to it on the radio and love it just as much as live. There is nothing that could make me think hockey sucks.

Unless, say, people got a little greedy and there was a lockout...

my opinion of hockey: the puck is too small and fast-moving to see on TV. even in person, the puck is sometimes hard to see unless maybe you have a good seat. i have been to one hockey game and i enjoyed the chill & excitement in the air, but they just don't score enough!!! or maybe it's just because i was at a Thrashers game

Its typically a lower scoring game. But having played hockey for a long time I guess watching the puck is not too foreign to me so I don't find it hard to watch in person. Did you watch any games on FOX when they had that ridiculious animation layer to help "follow" the puck? Made it look as if I were playing NHL Hockey XXXX by EA.

I have failed to keep up with that issue this season. Just haven't thought about it. Are they really locking out the players for the entire season?

Crash Course:

Offsides: no player on the offensive may completly pass the far blue line from that players goal prior to the puck.

Icing: When the puck crosses the center and far blue line and is touched by the offense(this is a defensive move to dump the puck)

High Sticking: Stick goes above the waist

Cross Checking: Checking a player using your stick like a cross bar

Slashing: Kinda speaks for itself

Roughing: Overly aggressive hit, possibly with the purpose of causing injury.

Unless you are moving to Ontario...you HATE the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Oooohhh I hate Ottawa.

I mean, if you are in Canada, you want any Canadian team to do well. But, people that are not from Toronto tend to hate the Leafs.

Vancouver is a safe team to go with. Or, Montreal (unless you live in Toronto). I'm a Montreal fan, and I get ridiculed by all the Leaf fans in Toronto.
