K I am all caught up now.
1: Holy shit graham (omg). My brother was sitting in the room doing a crossword and I stopped the tape there to explain to him exactly who that guy is. omg
2: Curtis Manning is dead. The only way to make up for this is to
a) have hamri asswad end up being a bad guy and have jack tear his motherfuckin face off
b) have Chase Edmunds make a triumphant return to field ops since ultracool chase (cauterized a point blank gunshot wound to the hand with a red hot firepoker, stabbed a fat terrorist to death with his own knife, had jack chop his arm off, banged kim bauer) was replaced by ultracool Curtis (dude's been shot like 10 times and just gets up and brushes himself off [ALMOST] every time).
I'm still debating whether Manning's death is completely necessary. I'm pissed off as I said earlier the writers(producers, whoever) seem to think that killing a good character for one holy shit moment is strong enough to cancel out any future holy shit moments they could make. Also pissed they overshadowed it minutes later with the episode's real holy shit moment. Not only that but how many times has there been a standoff like that that ended with 0 people dead in the history of 24? Many. Fuckit.
I say so far the best season is #2 and I hope this season eventually traces back to it. With graham (omgholyshit) we have a connection to seas5 and season 5 had similarities to season 2 with the orchestrated attacks by oil bosses. So who knows.
I await the return of the black haired assassin (Mandy). May as well throw her into the mix since this seems to aim to be the end-all-be-all holy shit season.
So far: As long as the Bauer family shit isn't retarded, this could be a great season. However I notice as the seasons go on they seem to work less on suspense(still suspenseful as hell) and more on gunfights/explosions, and nothing against gunfights and explosions but gimme a break please, season 2 had 3 gunfights if I remember correctly. The one after the plane crash where Jack snipes while Nina spots him, the one in the alley with Jack, Yusuf, and John Wallace going against Kingsley's men (which was spectacular), and then the one in the coliseum at the end, which was actually just Jack sniping some guys and fistfighting another. Season 3 seemed to drag on for a while in the second half, season 4 was ok, and season 5 was a blemish, a good season (a little similar to season 2 as mentioned) but wtf @ the decision to fucking kill EVERYBODY, give me a break and think shit through. ALSO, wtf at the russian guy with the english accent in season 5, my god.
