Good thing about dating somebody at your work is that you both have that in common, both know the atmosphere, go under the same stress etcetc thats something that bonds people.

Bad thing is tho, that if it turns out wrong, altho she works on a different floor or something, people know her, know she dated you, and will side with her when she tells the "omg omg guys are jerks" stories and you will end up getting confrontated with that for some time.

Other than that, follow your heart, being rational isnt always the way to go

But if she is cool, go for it. I myself could never get a work relationship to work out, maybe cause I would get drunk and hit on other girls I worked with. Thats usually not a good thing.

I'm going to to say no. Mainly because despite what you think at the time, people who you work with aren't your friends. You can hang out all the time, and then when you move on from that job, you won't have anything in common. Just the way it is.

Least you can bitch about the boss together though :P

I dated a guy who worked with me. We weren't in the same department. I was a consultant and he was our tech support.

First project with the company, first day at our development center I met him (cuz had a printing problem due to dev center's screw up network). 5 years later, we are married and a kid on the way.

I can SO relate to that. I have worked at the same job for the past 5 years. I cannot tell you how many good friends I had, that I completely lost contact with when they transferred to another office or quit. Kinda sad...but it happens. Also had my share of dating girls I work with. I only had one situation where we ended on bad terms and still had to face eachother in a work enviroment. But it really wasn't so bad. I know people who met eachother here and are happily married.

Yarr, this one time I worked at a transportation company doing central dispatching and there was this 31 year old woman that worked in the afternoons that was freaking super hot. Well, I worked my magic and it was by far the best thing ever.

The moral of the story: Chicks at work are cool if they are 30+ years old and the relationship is STRICTLY physical. I learned so much from that woman that I could write a novel....

Yarr, you seem like the intelligent type, like you know how things work, and you're pretty logical. That said I have a feeling that you will handle the situation the right way. My advice: NEVER pass up love. It could become something amazing or it could really suck but no matter what you will end up kicking yourself if you pass it up. I'm going to take a guess and say that you are relatively good friends with your ex's right? You seem like that type, so even if things don't work out I'm sure you can be an adult and handle it by making sure it ends the right way. Good luck, buddy.

I remember when i used to work at Domino's Pizza, like 2 years ago and there's was this really hot driver (deliverer if you will), 2 weeks after i started working there we started dating. Well not dating, but hooking up if you will.

Make a story short, i started 'cutting' work to go deliver with her so we could make out. A few weeks after they noticed i was skipping work
to be with this chick, i got promoted. From employee, to costumer only, in other words, laid off, fired, discharged.

So my advice is, dont skip work.
