I don't know, they seemed to hold on pretty strongly to one statement the Pope made not too long ago. At least enough to go out and find themselves a nice little nun to only prove the Pope's point.

I'm thinking of things this way:

Some devout Muslim from the middle east comes to America, a few idiot people freak out like they do about homosexuals but for the most part these people may get some harassment and that is all.

Reverse it

Someone from America goes to the middle east. You would have to live in a "safe zone" area because over there they would kidnap you for political purposes, kill you on the spot, or behead you and call you "an infidel" (whether they use religion for their own purpose or if they just really believe in it).

I mean we're talking about a group of people that literally can brainwash people into thinking that if buses of innocent people (Muslim and other religion alike) are blown up then Allah gains something from it.

I know that the Muslim religion isn't to blame for this but that shit just doesn't happen over here. Many religious fanaticals here protest or try to seperate themself off privately and rather peacefully. The extremists seem to bomb abortion clinics although I haven't heard anything new lately but the thing is in the middle east explosions, violence, and the stranglehold of human rights are a daily commonplace.

He was an army commander. Islam was founded because tribes had tried for hundreds and hundreds of years to find peace but they couldn't. Islam brought peace and prosperity to the region and ushered in several centuries of total Islamic dominance and massive gains in science and philosophy (Europe was in the "Dark Ages" at the time).

It's because of money, really. We have money, we have a middle class, and we all live comfortably. There are different forums for our discontent other than taking to the streets in protest. They are much worse off financially, and have very little in the way of organized police forces. That is partly why there is so much more chaos. (No Money!) and (No Police!). And for us to destroy their government institutions, no matter how brutal, greatly destablized the entire region. We shouldn't have done it.

Too late now, the war was voted on in congress and what was done is done. Now what are we going to do? Seems we want to put our own type of government there despite how unlikely it is to succeed. We can't go back and undo what is done. Either you finish a fight in a convincing fashion or you are seen as weak. If we do this like Vietnam or Korea then we will look weak and it will bite us in the ass sooner than later. It doesn't matter how you got into the fight anymore, you have to finish it now.

The people there have always hated the US (the west in general), and the entire Middle East will continue to hate us as long as we support Israel. The ones who tell you Islam is "peaceful" and that they don't hate America are the most dangerous ones. Go ahead and believe the lie. You might want to read the Quran sometime. If I don't just play FF12 all night I might pull up some interesting quotes out of the Muslim holy book that will scare the living shit out of you. Like the prophecy that a muslim leader will kill 60% of the world's population. Thats in there buddy and there is alot more where that comes from.

Can't remember off the top of my head where it is exactly, but there is alot more in different parts of the quran. They have a higher percentage of people who seriously believe that crap than we think. As much as you hate what you think are religious fanatics here, they don't take the bible as half as seriously as the quran is taken over there. They do have a relatively small segment that doesn't believe in that part of the quran though. It isn't all just about the book of Jihad either.

This garbage has once again sparked my interest. I think I will read the Quran again, hard to remember everything as it has been awhile. Well in our house my parents have the books of several religions lol (they are hardcore Christians though). The Book of Mormon makes me laugh the hardest.
