That movie was fun, but I don't see us giving machines that type of AI ourselves (especially collectively). We would be the ones that decide whether to give the AI on the machine the ability to even be close to self aware (not likely anyways). It is all about passing the Turing test as far as measuring whether a machine could be capable of being self aware.

Human biomass could be used for fuel, and not just for machines to benefit. I would go ahead and put the people on deathrow to use as their biomass could be worth something then.

This is an interesting bet... the odds of self aware AI being made or not. I don't see Skynet or the Matrix type scenario happening myself and this guy agrees with me. His prediction lasts until 2050 though. Moore's Law will continue 2019 as far as transistors go. The hardware should be up to pace then to be powerful enough to power the AI, its just people won't make the software AI that is capable of being self aware.

So? The original article isn't off of kotaku.com. It is a reaction to the journalists story that generalizes people. That was just the first thing that came up off of google search for manchild lol.

That was the first time I had ever vistited kotaku, what is the significance of that site anyways?
