Did any of you watch that last night? It was pretty entertaining. I've never watched a VGA before...they said this was the 4th annual one. It was hosted by Samuel L Jackson  Snakes on a mothafucking plane.

i try not to follow it haha, their opinion doesn't have very much weight for me.

How do they have an annual VGA show, but not an active show about video games to review over goes over me

They did for awhile. It basically entailed them reviewing a game and then going to EA Studios to play a hockey game or something every time. It was like always EA and it was always a sport's game lol.

well, a huge percentage of the NA video game industry revolves around sports games - and like 90% of that is football games.

The show was only entertaining because I find Samuel L Jackson hilarious, and I liked watching all the famous people get up and talk like they give a shit about video games.

What pissed me off the most was Oblivion...I couldn't fucking believe Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion won best RPG. That made me angry. Oblivion is one of my least favorite RPGs i've ever played. I lost interest in it very fast. It has good graphics...and that's about it lol. It was in the same category as FF12, Kingdom Hearts 2, and Valkeryie Profile 2. FFXII and KH2 blow it the fuck away. 2006 is/was one of the best years for many good RPGs being released. Oblivion shouldn't even be in that category. It should have been bumped out for Xenosaga III. Oblivion also won game of the year, best original score, and most addictive game wtf. Maybe I'm alone on not liking it...

I disagreed with many of the games that won. I also think they should have added different games to certain categories...here's a link to the results http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/theelderscrollsivoblivion/news.html?sid=6162929. Look at it if you want to get mad. I'll copy and paste it too for kicks, with the winner bolded.

The funny thing is that there is a videogame station, G4, and they don't bother with a goofy award show. Of course most of the day they just show star trek.

If you want to see videogame awards just pick up the January game informer >.>

Oblivion is awesome. I'm like 70 hours into it and I've completed maybe 20% of the games content. One thing I've noticed about Oblivion is that with so much to do in the game, it can be overwhelming, and you can't play it thinking you can complete everything in the game. It's very much like a single player MMORPG. You really have to pick your own path. For instance, with my character I've risen in the ranks of the thieves guild and the gladiator arena, while at the same time working on the main storyline and doing some side quests. If you try to join every guild and do every quest, you will get burned out.

It's not an RPG for everyone. I hated Morrowind because it was too non-linear, but Oblivion has a nice mix of being able to choose your own path and while guiding you through the different quests/battles.

Besides Zelda, no Japanese games won. Okami was very very good and it didn't win once.

I don't care much for awards shows on TV because its mostly popular opinion, which is usually something stupid that pleases retards.

I guess everytime people have a choice, they go for that. Idk what G4 shows during the day, but they're getting a lot of older shows now instead of video game stuff.

The award Zelda won was the only award tallied after 11/7/06. The games released after that (Wii and PS3 stuff) will be on next year's show. Oblivion overall is a superior RPG, but I think Gears of War blows it out of the water. Well if you actually play multiplayer with your friends. Some of my buds got a HD projector and I made those fags buy their own 360 controllers. 4 player split screen on a projector is fucking awesome. Easily destroys all other games released this year.

It's the same thing with the Entertainment industry's award shows though. They don't have them all on the new year. Also it's the spike TV Video Game Awards. Who the fuck cares? lol
