Ive added "Visual Confirmation" to the registration process. This is something Ive actually been picking away at for a while. I had it half done, but I couldnt figure out why it wouldnt work. I spent a good chunk of today on it and it's now officially working.

This wont mean anything to the people already registered, aside from not having to see spam bots at the bottem of the front page.

Yea, Cherie popped in and supposedly fixed the JoS bot problem and they had 2-6 new ones in the last 2 days, they must have some nre intelligent bot now.

make it so you have to approve all of them, and have the requests sent to an email address you don't use. then, don't even bother looking at them, and have a way for serious people to contact you, maybe through guest posting on war room or w/e

ya know, that would be a bit of trouble but it just might work, but I have a better idea if it could be done somehow:

a visual recognition system coupled with a quick yes/no questionair that people have to fill out, say something at the top like "The answer to question #5 is yes if you wanna be a member." (Note: It doesn't matter if the question is true or not.) And make it so it randomly changes the approval question per refresh (example, next time, the answer to question #3 is yes if you want to become a member.) It would be an alternate or secondary visual recognition system but not sure how you would implement it in a webpage since I know nothing about websites but I know it could be done. It may not get rid of every bot or jackass signup but it would limit them greatly I'm thinking.

Yeah authorization is done on an Administrator level. I get an email for all the new users and register them from there. When im at work I just manually register anyone who doesnt have spam in the profile. Its a little "stone age" lol, but its the most secure way to do it. I dont mind the extra work.

Besides, its not like we have tons of new users anyway lol.
