Ok, so I just bought FFXI for PC because I'm getting sick of playing it on PS2. I'm having problems getting it installed, and the message I always get is, "1608: unable to create installdriver instance return code: -2147319765" I've tried looking around on the web and haven't really found a solution that works. Can anyone think up any solutions? I'd appreciate it :/ Thanks, SS |

http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108440 This says a 1608 might have to do with your permissions. I am assuming you can't uninstall and reinstall completely either? There is some troubleshooting crap in the link I posted, but other than that I wouldn't know what could cause this to repeatedly happen. I thought you were originally a PC player anyways lol. |

I was but it was on a different computer. I've tried doing everything that link suggests, and I come up with nothing. |

Well there is system restore/last known good config in a last ditch effort. I am sure you checked for malware/virus etc. |
