I started target shooting with my uncles 22 the other month. I decided to step it up to a .357 revolver. It kicks a ton so i decided to try out a .40. After trying about 5 other guns I finally settled on a Springfield XD-40. ![]() Also been spendin my weekends shooting my friends .50, AR-10 and G3. We don't parade around like a bunch of idiots drinking and playing with weapons. We are all serious and enjoy it as a sport. |

Not much of a hand gun person, but that is a nice one you got there. I am more of a avid hunter then sport shooter, but every september before the seasons start I go and shoot clays for a few weeks to finely toon my shooting. I use a Benelli Supernova, 3 1/2 inch barrell, 12 guage turkey gun. Its my pride and joy and I love the thing. Recoil is very little and it shoots beutifully. There is a reason why many SWAT teams across the country use Benelli. I also have an "antique" Springfield...I think....might be something different that my dad used when he was a kid and when Pheasant hunting. The think is about 8 lbs and if your not carefull will but you on your ass. Its what my friends and I call the mother of all shot guns. |

I hear Benelli is the only way to go. I also find it funny in Illinois is a real pain in the ass to get a FOID but once you do you can have an AK47 in under a week for 350$. IL is also trying to ban all assault rifles so it was another reason to get the hand gun |

guns are fun to shoot, but 50 cal is fucking awesome blow a damn hole in old beat up car. I own 2 type of hand gun that is Sig 45mm and 9mm those are fun to shoot. now firing a 357 Mag that is crazy to kick on ya. I also own 30.06 and 30.30 but I did had a .50 cal still before those were banned so I had not fired those for longtime. |

I haven't gone hunting in years and its been almost a year since I went to the range. If I went hunting again I would want to try with a bow to see if it is easier or harder than using a rifle. I have only fired a 9mm Glock as far as handguns go. Pretty much standard police issue lol. My friend has a .357 actually, never fired it myself. |

Bow and arrow is alot harder to shoot unless your exp with it, But if not you have to hit the heart to make the kill. |

Isn't that the point of hunting lol? I hate people that just sport kill. There has never been anything I didn't eat that I have shot unless I gave it away to friends to make a shit on of jerky. Its those that sport kill that give the rest of teh real hunters a bad name. I <3 benelli and here is a pic of my gun. Mine is actually a little bit older of a model, but its the same thing basically. Its done me very well so far, Its a great goose gun, a little powerful at times for Pheasant and Quail. I can remember the time when I was pheasant hunting and blew the entire right side off the bird. But at least there was still enough to make one nice breast haha. http://www.benelliusa.com/firearms/larg ... pg12Ga.jpg If you really want a nice benelli, I would go w/ the Black eagle, def. one of their best shotguns. And Panther, sucks .50 cal is outlawed where ever you live. One of my dads friends actually rebuilt a .50 cal machine gun. Talk about some fire power there. |

Yeah I have only hunted deer and of course you eat it lol. Damn good if prepared correctly, use milk to cook it. Pretty wasteful if you are just going to put it on your mantle or whatever. I am not impressed by Rush Limbaugh killing a bear with an AK-47 lol. Do it with a bow and I might give you some credit, but who the hell eats bear meat... all it would be good for is a rug and thats stupid imo. My uncle and cousin only hunt with bows now, even though my uncle sells guns at his shop. Do you guys watch Future Weapons or whatever its called? They had a .50 caliber sniper rifle that could penetrate a tank at several miles away... fucking crazy. Also the guns that could fire around corners were hax. |

Surprisinly Bear Jerky is real good, one of my high school buddies dads is one of the top dogs in the Kansas Wildlife and Parks Department and goes up to Alaska a lot and brought bear back along w/ antelope and elk....all three were awesome, especially the bear burgers |

My roomates and I were trying to come up with an all-encompassing definition on a "sport" the other day. We were trying to exclude things like cheerleading and chess. But I was trying to INCLUDE something like Sport Shooting. after much deliberation I found that it's impossible to include shooting as a sport, and therefore it isn't. I'm still working in my definition, though. |

I'm still working in my definition, though. Dude, u my friend are a moron...enough said. Anything that takes extreme praticing, lots of time spend into preparing at the highest level of a competition can be a sport. Even seen the biathalon at the winter olympics? Yea, that sport where you have to cross country sky a very long distance (speed it big) then try to shoot a target at 100m? Yea, that takes extreme skill because you have to literally control your breathing after skiing 10 miles....and its freezing cold. Have you ever shot clay pigeons at a competition? Didn't think so, do you have any freaking idea how hard it is? Clays come from many directions, you have to be completly on target, and still switch out and put more shells in. Sport shooting is a sport that takes more preperation and concentration that probally most sports. Dumb-ass |
