My amp doesn't recieve any power from the battery, but the electricity makes it through the wire. I think so anyway, because there are sparks when I touch the power and ground cables together. Anyway, everything is hooked up properly to the best of my knowledge, no fuses are blown as far as I can tell, and the amp was just taken out of the box yesterday, so I don't know what it could be. I searched on google for help but that didn't work too well. If it matters it's a Sony Xplod XM-554ZR 600W. Any help would be appreciated. |

you may have dead board. Btw dont touch the wire together like that, use volt meter and you can get one for 6 to 10 buck or you can get 12 volt light tester that have ground wire which is Neg - and sharp end for pos +. Last time I had a friend do that touch wire like that ended up having car burn down to the ground. |

find a different place to ground your amp, most common error, make sure its touching REAL METAL if it touches paint will not work |

lol Panther I don't touch it all the time it's just like whenever we're hooking it up they touch a little bit. Masterg, I did try a different spot, but where I have the ground is the same spot as I had my last one so I don't know if that's it or not but I'll try a new spot. Thanks for the replies. |

blown fuse? Power wire fuse or the Amp fuses? |

I don't know how the amp fuses might've blow since I just took it out of the box but I'll need to get a hold of a fuse checker for them. I switched the power line fuse though and still have nothing. |

Apparently the power cable had to be split between the 12V and the REM... yay for figuring this out at 11PM. |

Isn't REM short for Remote? Isn't that what turns the amp on? IIRC You tie REM to your Acc hot from your car so it's only on when you turn the key on, no? |
