What kind of inspection? You gonna race it or something? haha.

Dude, replacing brake pads and rotors is very easy. Don't pay a shop to do it. What kind of car do you have?

a 2004 mazda 3 which has the worst tires and brakes ever I've had to replace those shit's like 4 times since i bought the fucking thing. Of course, I have a long drive to work and my gfs house which adds like 30k miles a year on it. It's already got 70k on it. and I know replacing tires and brakes aren't a big deal and I could do it myself and save a shit load of money, but 1. I'm lazy and 2. I've never done it and don't know what to do exactly.

and inspection is something us priveledged tri-state area motorists have to deal with. Basically we need to have a little sticker in our car saying that our car is ok for the road, by taking our car in once a year and having the mechanic tack on all kinds of shit we don't need like if you have a crack in your windshield or a broken casing on one of your lights.. you can't pass. fines are pretty heavy for driving w/o inspection and could probably lead up to points on your license and even jail time if not taken care of.

sucks dude, I had a similar fate last year with my car...

They wound wanting to replace 2 tires, my brakes, my emergency brake, my windshield, my power steering pan and my wipers for something crazy like 2500 bucks...I was like "F U ILL BE BACK TOMORROW"

Went and spent about 300 bucks and replaced everything except the emergency brake and windsheild, knocked it down to a total inspection/repair of 125...still seems a little steep but I'll take 425 over 2500 any day.

Just sell your car and one of your kidneys to the blackmarket, you don't need to two to survive, and buy a new car. Poor problem solved. Damn I should be a financial consultant when I grow up.

lol well thanks for making me laugh remey. that makes it kinda better. It's not the end of the world, just sucks knowing that the 1000 bucks I would've used for my birthday [new cymbals for my drumset, a digital reverb pedal, and getting my guitar fixed/setup] is now being used for my car. Was the last thing I needed due to an already stressful week. ah well guess I 'll just do some drinking tonight or something and hopefully end up in a diabetic coma.

You do know you can get those pads replaced by yourself easly right?
http://www.grandprix.net/brakes/brakepad.html
It'll take you 10 minutes on each tire, and you dont need that rope. If you go to Home Depot, you'll probably spend $20-30 bucks on tools, break pads you can find in any auto part store. The only way you can probably screw up is if you reverse the pads when you put them in (you would have to be an idiot to do that though lol)

Remey is wrong, you need some chloroform, one of those keys that let you into everything and a good scalpel. Then you can be a kidney thief. Why sell your kindney on the black market when you can sell the kidneys' of hundreds of unsuspecting victims. Thats how you make the money.

I have put 12k miles on my new Civic in less than 6 months and it has been great. Previously on my Pontiac, the most mileage I had put on it in a year was 15k (drove from Orlando to Jville every other week when I was at UCF). So this car is getting more miles on it faster and I haven't even driven outside of Jacksonville lol. I went broke multiple times fixing the Pontiac.. engine, AC, transmission, brakes, alternator, starter, engine again, exhaust, AC again... yeah fuck that car. Thankfully we didn't have any type of inspection crap, my car was such a POS it would have never passed.

My friend has a 96 Saturn w/ a new engine, he wants to spend $1k on rims lol. I told him to fix the inside of his car first and maybe a new paintjob. He has no A/C in FL during the summer and his stereo sucks ass. Crazy fuck wants to put 18 inch rims on it first lol.

Gotta love the retards here in FL with their 21, 22, 24inch rims on their retarded ass vehicles like saturns and impala's. What Pontiac did you have? V8 Birds usually get their curse on the 60k miles, but if it's well maintained and well driven it shouldn't be too much.

well I still have 90 Dodge Dakota with engine swapped from 3.9L V-6 LA to a Mag V-8 360 5.9L with A518 Mod Trans. and added Gear Vendor that makes 4 speed to 8 speed for hual or pull trailer better than old V6 and A500 tran.

This engine gets way better MPG than old None Mag V6 and I am happy with it still.

My 95 Dodge Neon just got a new gas tank this year and I'm planning on getting a couple new tires this fall. The 2 things that suck most about my car are: no air conditioning and my brakes make horrible sounds but there's technically nothing wrong with them (according to the places I've asked).

you could get LeMans Touring Tires. i have them on my firebird and they PWN! made for the lemans race, used everyday ;D. strong tires, about 4 years on the car and they still have the same amt of tread as the day i bought them ^^. my brother did my brake pads for 10$ plus the 25$ for the pads, shouldnt be no 1000$ even with lemans tires >:O
