http://www.wikipedia.com: Quote: "Hurt" is a song written by Trent Reznor, first released as a promotional single on Nine Inch Nails 1994 album The Downward Spiral. In 2002, "Hurt" was covered by Johnny Cash to critical acclaim; it was Cash's final hit before his death. Its accompanying video, featuring images from Cash's life up to his final months, was named the best video of the year by the Grammy Awards and Country Music Awards. Cash's video was directed by Mark Romanek.

I saw somewhere that Trent Reznor said it wasn't his song anymore, being that Cash did it so well. |

Ring of Fire was mostly about him though..I think. That's a June Carter song originally, right? I always thought it was about her and Cash. EDIT: Nvm, I found it: "Although "Ring of Fire" sounds somewhat ominous, the term refers to falling in love - which is what June Carter was experiencing with Johnny Cash at the time. Some sources claim that June had seen the phrase, "Love is like a burning ring of fire," underlined in one of her uncle A. P. Carter's Elizabethan books of poetry[2][3]." |
