[caleb - 02/10/2008] i have the 8800GT alpha dog but when i go to select screen size it wont allow me to select a number higher then 1068x760. i go into the Nvidia control panel and when i try to make a customized setting above 1068x760, it wont allow it and just auto sets any resolution entered back to 1068x760

[BRIAN - 02/11/2008] Hi Caleb, thanks for the message. What monitor are you using? What is the native resolution of your monitor? Are you able to try the card with another monitor? What kind of connection are you using? Let us know. Thanks Brian.

[caleb - 02/11/2008] i am using a High Def 15" magnavox LCD screen. i am using a DVI- vga cord. before i had the 8800gt i had 2 radeon 1650 pro`s in crossfire and was able to support 2500x1600 on this monitor. i have tried a different monitor a small starlogic monitor with the same results.

[WILLIAM - 02/12/2008] Hello Caleb, thank you for your message and sorry to hear you are experiencing these problems. Personally I`ve never seen a 15inch monitor go beyond 1024x768 as it just cannot support higher resolutions. We currently have several 15inch monitors with many different types of graphics cards and none of them will show a resolution passed 1024x768. You said you are working at 1068x760. Is this a custom resolution? Unfortunately you wont be able to get anything better than 1024x768 on a 15 inch monitor. Could put the cross fire back together and send a screen shot of your display properties tab opened? You can send to. If it can be done with those cards there must be a way to do with our 8800gt but honestly I dont think its possible. Best regards, William.

[caleb - 02/12/2008] it is not a custom screen size its just the 1024x768 but i forgot the order and wound up with 1068x760. what im using technically isnt a 15inch monitor, its a High Def LCD TV with VGA functionability. i will get a screenshot by the weekend but at the moment im too dependent on my pc for college work

this is the 8800gt setup:

THIS IS THE 1650 crossfire setup THATS SUPPOSED TO SUCK NEXT TO THE 8800GT:

As if it was a XFX defect--it's still 1024x768, resized down... Move along people nothing to see here.

If it makes you feel any better to do that, just get RivaTuner.

yes it is resized down, but if you read the paragraphs before, xfx told me to take a picture of the 1650 display tab showing that it was able to go to 2560x768 when the 8800gt could not

Product Description
The 15-inch Magnavox 15MF605T HD-ready flat panel LCD TV is a perfect fit for your home smaller rooms. With an inexpensive optional VGA cable (male-male ending) you can turn the Magnavox 15in LCD into a space saving PC monitor as well. It features a standard, 181-channel NTSC tuner, but is fully capable of high-definition display when connected to an optional HDTV source. This progressive scan display maximizes the picture quality of progressive-scan DVD players, set-top boxes, and digital video recorders. This ultra-slim set measures less than 6.75 inches deep with its included table stand, and it can also be wall mounted with an optional hardware kit.
The 15MF605T features a 4:3 aspect ratio for viewing standard TV in fullscreen format with selectable 16:9 mode. It has a 1024 x 768-pixel resolution for compatibility with 1080i, 720p, and 480p DTV signals. Other features include a 130-degree horizontal viewing angle, fast 16 ms (millisecond) response time, 450 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating, and 400:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.) The 2D comb filter separates chrominance (color) from luminance (brightness) information in the video signal for independent processing to improve picture resolution and minimize distortion. This set also offers the Smart Picture features that automatically adjusts picture settings to optimal levels, 3D motion adaptive de-interlacing, Picture-in-picture and split screen functionality, V-Chip parental controls, and tri-lingual menu displays (English, French, Spanish).

This set has two built-in stereo speakers that produce 3 watts per channel (for 6 watts of total power). It can produce an immersive surround sound field via Dolby virtual surround sound, and the Smart Sound feature keeps volume levels constant while flipping through channels and commercial breaks. It provides the following connections:

Composite AV (RCA) In: 1
S-Video In: 1
Component Video In (Y PB PR): 1
PC VGA In: 1

If you do have this, then this monitor have limit of 1024x768, That video card can go way higher than that but you need to remember about the monitor's limits as well dont forget!

EDIT: I have MSI 8800GT 512 DDR3 Geforce run just fine but I need to upgrade new monitor due to limit at 1280x1024 with this card.

This thread would have been marginally better if you actually explained what was going on rather than just copying and pasting the entire customer service conversation and expecting us to read and understand the situation at hand.
