| Post subject: | Future of the Forums: Upgrade or start over? |
I've been trying hard to upgrade these forums to the new PHPBB3 forums, but the upgrade just wont work. Im contacting my host to try and help me resolve the issue, but I'm not sure how much help they can provide. Anyway, I did install a new empty php 3 forum and its a lot nicer to user. If this upgrade doesnt get off the ground Im tempted to lock these forums (so we can still view the forums and link to old threads) and get everyone to re-register on the new forums. What do you guys think? Im just getting really tired of the spam bots hitting this site. Id like have the ability for new users to sign up. lol I also want to setup a nice gallery option |

phpBB3 is really nice, up to you though. Not too sure about this but isn't there a way to import the posts and everything to the new format? |

I dont know about posts, but i think user information is copied over if you install it in the same location as these forums. |

Im working with my host to upgrade the forums. I'll see how that plays out. if I cant upgrade I just start PHPBB3 new and see how people like it. Its a lot cleaner and bot free. We can also do more stuff in our posts. |
