Looking on the internet it seems the average score is around 1090 out of 1600, without writing test. and 1600 out of 2400 with the writing. If that helps. Atleast thats what I could deduce. Hope that helps. |

Foreigners will be confused because about two years ago SAT I was dropped in favor of SAT II which overhauled the test and the grading criteria. Instead of being out of 1600 it's now out of 2200 or 2400 I believe. I got a 1910 which is like microscopically above average as I understand. I didn't give two shits about the SAT and never studied or got rest the night before haha. We recorded some music instead lol. The rest of my academic portfolio was good enough to get me accepted to my school of choice despite the average scores. And some areas look at ACT more. Some areas look at both. |

i took the SAT 1 like 10 years ago right after highschool and scored an 1100 out of a possible 1600. I nailed the english portion and flopped the math completely. But I still think that's a decent score since I was in like special ed classes in H.S. for being a fuck up, and didn't study for the test at all. Ponuh and I are in the same boat, microscopically above average without having to study. /dance |

I got 1240 without writing, 1730 with writing. I don't have a teacher to ask. I didn't study either. If its testing what you're supposed to know, you shouldn't have to. |

the SAT score is broken down as follows: 800 points for math 800points for reading 800 points for writing a few years ago the writing did not exist so only 1600 existed. if you get everything right you get 800points. you lose .25 of a point for a wrong answer, 1 point for a right answer and 0 points for a blank answer. the higher those scores, the more you know, the more colleges will want you to attend the test is made to be long so dumb luck wont help you out the questions are easy but under the time restraints, the stress makes the test hard. i took them 6 times my highest w/o writing was 1300, with writing was 1900. got a 700 in math |

There used to be a writing portion and the maximum score was 1600. This was back in 1997. I remember that when my brother took the test, there was no writing portion. 1220/1600 here, which is above average as it got me a scholarship to the state schools. 620 for reading /writing and 600 for math (I didn't bring a calculator). I took the SAT once, though I know a few people who took it more than once. I would say that having to write out all the math on paper with a pencil was the biggest pain in the ass. The worst part is that I showed up there and all of those kids had calculators (I had a TI myself at home). I thought that would be cheating as I had so many equations programmed. Since the score was good enough for the scholarship, I didn't take it again. I have a friend who got a 1560/1600 the same year as me. |

Kids at my school always programmed their calculators with formulas and equations because they're retarded. I brought a calculator, but didn't use it. I got accepted into my college. I guess I worried too much over the SAT scores. |

Somehow I must have been appealing because I got admitted to one of 5,000 undergraduate spots in my first choice school (University of Washington) and they had over 20,000 applicants this year. My GPA is only 3.7 or so but I've been doing college early so I'll have two years done and my 2A degree by the time I enter university. |

I only had to get a 3.0 unweighted (took all honors, AP and IB classes) to get my scholarship along with a 1180/1600 SAT. I had a 3.4 unweighted and a 1220, so I just skimmed by. My senior year was ridiculous because I knew I had a buffer due to my previous 3 years GPA wise being a 3.8. Scheduling AP Physics with Calc for 1st and 2nd period was not a good idea, given I had seriously taken to partying by then. Good times. |
