So here is a situation I had recently and I want your opionion. So I went on a date last tuesday and went to see the movie "Year One". So I go in pay for 2 tickets and one lrg drink (way over priced). We found our seats and listened to dumbass teenagers for 20 mins looking cool in front of their girlfriends and then the Trailers started up. After about 5 mins into the trailers all the power goes out and the emergency lights go on. After about 10-15 mins of sitting there an employee comes in and says "Ok the power is out and we dont know why. Please stay seated". So we waited about 15 mins and during that you could see the lights were starting to come on. The same employee comes out ans says "Ok the power is back on just takes a few mins for the reals to start up. Sorry for the inconvenice" After a few mins the Trailers start up again and back to normal. Then the power goes out again after 5 mins. This time we waited about 15-20 mins of dumbass kids yelling crap to get attention. The Same employee comes in and says "Looks like we have blown a transformer and we are going to evacuate each theather one at a time." After 15 mins of waiting we started to get up and leave. As we left we handed them the ticket stub and they gave us one free admission for another day. Do you think that was adequate compensation or should they have done more? why? |

tal I had this happen when I used to be head projections when I was younger and those things can happen I had blown out transformer once. but if you don't want a free ticket you can always ask your refund if that what your asking. |

No, i think he's asking our opinion on what would be proper compensation on the theaters front for wasting his time like that. Giving him a free movie ticket basically refunds him the cost. What they should do is something like.. Free ticket and 4 choices of snacks for 2 guests. |

I think they should have refunded the drinks for you. the problem is at this point its too late. I would have made a stink when they gave me the coupon. |

I've had the same thing happen to me (minus the annoying kids) when I saw LOTR Two Towers in the theater during monsoon season...halfway through the movie though. They won't normally offer any more than re-admission passes... that's because the profit for admission is minimal compared to the profit from concessions. That's how it was when I worked at a theater. We handed out re-admission passes like crazy because no one cared about the "loss." In fact, we would often make trades such as passes for pizza with those damn re-admission passes... It would take an act of god to get money back on concession.. that is assuming someone who gives a damn is around (GM or something) we had to have any kind of refund approved by a manager and it almost never happened... They would give them re-admission passes instead 99% of the time. haha |

After careful consideration, I think I actually would have fucked those kids and beaten up their girlfriends. |
