I know we don't draft them, but it's the people with less opportunities who end up going overseas as new recruits.

I'm not very wealthy either, but I'm sure you and I both live "comfortably" in the middle class.

I lived quite afraid in a lower class black neighborhood for 14 years.

And I have no personal qualms about sending ignorant poor persons who can not get a job to fight for a full salary. They get paid when they aren't working. Whens the last time you got paid for not working?

i will say that i was for bush over kerry all the way for many reasons, but there are too many, (i also wrote a paper about why bush is better than kerry, and i showed it to my teacher and i changed her mind on kerry, and she voted for bush, i was amazed because some of the people i showed it to did not change their vote, but they said it was a great paper and hit many great points, prolly the best paper i ever wrote.) but anyway,

i truly dont like either, but the better of the two in my opinion is by far gota be bush.

i hear that they are trying to change the ammendment so that forigeners can run fro president, because arnold wants to run in 2008. as of now, i prolly would not vote for him. but after i see what he does for cali, that all could change.

think about it... he could fight our wars for us! this is the terminator were talking about!

The army soldiers are majorily those paying for college through military funds.

The people are too poor to afford college by themselves, and too ignorant to obtain a scholarship. It wasn't offensive, just general.

Why be mad at me? I didn't choose to recruit the soldiers that way. Unless you are a career soldier, there's about a 70% chance that's how you are recruited.

How am I the asshole because the US Army uses High Schools and Colleges to entrap soldiers in the Army?

I don't disagree that many many Soldiers join to aid themselves in paying for college, or while in the military take advantage of those benefits. However calling them stupid or even saying they are unable to get local scholarships is way out of line, not to mention completely wrong. Many ( at least half) of the national gaurdsmen I know going to school recieve scholarships/grants/etc beyond the tution waivers/assistance and the G.I.bill benefits from being in the NG.

Are they stupid for getting tens of thousands of dollars of additional benefits while serving their country? You seem to think so, and go beyond that and belittle them for it. Hell ever think that the military has some very smart folks in its ranks who due to their service time don't need the scholarships you're so proud of obtainin. yet if they hadn't they would be more than smart enough to give you a run for the money, and even if they didn't get the scholarship it'd be even more competitive for that money.
