Post subject:  Whats going on
First off let me just say im not high or drunk. I was coming home from work tonight and im looking at the sky. There was a cluster the looked like an explosion. I watching going this is just too wierd. The cluster then expanded in only 2 directions. I looked like a cloud of some sort but it expanded the whole length of the sky in 2 directions only in a span of 5 - 10 min. I then woke my sister up to confirm im not crazy. The first thing i saw was about faded by the time she got out there. We then both looked north to see the sky changing to a bright green. In about 5 minutes the who sky was a pale light green. You could watch "flares" shooting up in all different colors lighting the sky. There were very pale and hard to see but we both saw them. We turned east where it was black 5 minutes before and it started changing before our eyes. It looked smokey and we both didnt know what the f was going on. Its all happened at about 10:45 - 11:00 pm central time around Chicago. I working on getting some picture phone images. This better be the northern lights im im going to crap my pants. http://www.gi.alaska.edu/cgi-bin/predict.cgi says they might be active in alaska but Chicago??? This is too wierd.

11:30 report is there is nuthing out there anymore. The sky is as black as it ever gets. I can also see the stars now with no signs anything happened

That definately looks like the northern lights... but you said you live in Chicago?

We get to see a very weak version of the Northern Lights where I live.

you gotta drive out of the city into the contry area and then you can see them. Its very rare and most of the time its predicted so youll hear on the radio or on TV "look for the norther lights" and people will drive out of town and check em out.


Ive never seen em myself.

Just take some acid and watch cars drive by... instant northern lights... btw don't go into them.. they hurt. :x
