All those cards mentioned above can only be used in PCs.

Unless you have an alienware laptop, which you don't, it will be impossible to update the graphics card. You could try sending it back to Dell and asking them to install a better one, but that will most likely cost more than $200. All those cards mentioned above can only be used in PCs.

the best way to get the best bang for your buck, is but parts separately and make your computer yourself.

Honestly, if you are new to that, there are sometimes great deals with Dell that you can tyr and hook up with (and then upgrade from there).

But I'm all about "building your own from parts"

For that price, you might not find anything super out there. I'm on the Nvidia side, but 9800PRO is quite an outsanding card. Props to Radeon on this Chipset.

Not necesarelly true. Most Dell computers have starndard computer input/ouput and slots on the motherboard. If your motherboard has a 'AGP' slot, then its completly upgradable. If you have a Hi-End Dell computer, you surly have an AGP slot. As for the PCI express i really doubt you have it, but it was worth listing. You either open it up and check it yourself, or give Dell a call. If your dell came with Integraded graphics card, things might get a little more difficult. Alienware is marely an expensive & higher version of any Integrated computer selling corporation/company. I can build you a top of the line Alienware for 2/3 of its Retail price.

What he said is entirely true except that some high end dell laptops do now have the ability to replace the video card. A laptop is not a PC, laptops do not have standard AGP\PCI slots. Which is what Caduceus seemed to trying to be saying. You cannot go out and buy any AGP video and open up your laptop and try to throw it in there. The video on MOST laptops is integrated and there are NO expansion slots to add any others. Alienware was, as far as I know, the first laptop producing company to offer upgradable videocards on their laptops. And I am fairly certain that those do not use AGP either. I posted the info Before he said laptop. Therefor i thought he had a desktop. Its also pretty obvious from the ports that the VC's are for a desktop computer.

So since my comp is a tart i decided i might get a new one. I mean i spend all of my time with comps might as well have a good one. Anyway i need an opinion i have about 2k to blow (irl) but i dont wanna blow it ALL on a comp so a decent comp for gaming thats at the right price. Meaning like 0-1.5k. Thanks. I honestly would be lost tryin to build a comp unless i had instructions.
