Not sure if there's a post about this stuff or not yet but figured I'd post up some of my interesting finds

DDR Ram w/ heat sync
This stuff is pretty cool, I love the look

It's Infineon/ Supertalent 512MB DDR400 PC3200... I'm thinking about ordering 1 or 2 sticks for the new comp that's coming in a few days.

Right now my PC is pretty interesting. It's compaq, but to rip the CD-RW out (to put my DVD-RW in) I had to totally rip off the front. I was tired of not having room so I decided to move my motherboard into a bigger case and then my motherboard decided to stop working altogether, lol.. but I have a 3 GHz machine on the way, only gonna have 512 DDR to start (and I already have 256mb video card), gonna upgrade and get a 200 GB HDD and another 512 stick of ram and I should have a pretty awesome.. much better than what I'm used to, lol

I only have one pic on my laptop here at work but you get the idea of this one...

This one is DangerDen all the way. TDX Block on the CPU and the oldschool Maze on the 9800 Pro. 1/2" Tubing all around.

Specs:
Asus A7N8X Deluxe (Nforce 2)
Kingston HyperX 1Gig PC3200 (400)
Barton core 2500+ @ 10.5 X 205
Radeon 9800 Pro (Don't remember where the OC is on this one but it's up there)
Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS
the rest doesn't matter much..

Other System (the one I play FFXI on)
Abit NF7S (yes, I like NForce2)
Barton core 2500+ (again...) @10.5 X 200 <--it's air cooled so I had to bring it down
Nvidia 6800GT
Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS
SATA Maxtor 250G HDD
Aero 7

I'll get some pics of the other and get some of the Lian Li with the side on and cold cathodes kicking..

Haha I've been through so many cases. I have to say that Lian Li and Tt are my fav now. Lian Li is awesome but so damn expensive; perfect if you LAN though.

I don't want anything too extravagant really - something simple is fine... I just want one whole system in like an alienware blueish color, and maybe use some neon lights in the case.

After that I'd be happy with just about anything, lol

I have a problem when it comes to building PCs. I start out saying "I'll make this one simple and functional." then end up with all kinds of crazy shit going on....

Are you into overclocking at all or just regular use?

Oh... do the tubes help with cooling the system, ventilation or anything like that? I've never really seen 'em used before, so I'm not sure exactly what purpose they serve, or if they're just used to run wires through or something?

Hehe, the tubes are filled with liquid. It's about 35% water and the rest is a glycol based coolant and UV dye. Notice the black thing at the bottom towards the front? That's the pump and the chrome thing on top is the radiator with a 120mm fan to keep it cool. :D

Oh wow, nice.. bet that does pretty good then.

On a cooler note, I saw a motherboard that one guy had that he was running from his fish tank. Some kind of water resistance stuff, but he had the -entire- system run out of his aquarium filled with water, lol - I should look for the old picture of it I had, but that's on my home drive and I'm at work

Yeah, the water is the only reason I can get it up to 410 FSB with temps around 40C

I've seen the crazy total submersion thing, it's freaking crazy. haha

my case is a rectangle, its like, 8 x 8 or something, hehe.

my boyfriend made my computer, so I really don't know much about it, but it is really small so I can carry it around if I need too ^_^.

Almost like a laptop, I guess,

Wouldn't 8x8 be square? Geez that's tiny though, I couldn't manage with something like that, lol.. I need a spacious case... I couldn't even unplug my floppy drive without taking out my power supply and unplugging all my other IDE cables first, lol... compaq is horrible, never buy one if you like fooling with your inside ;p

no, its 8 inches tall and 8 inches wide, and its long at the back.

heh I dunno

Post subject:

Ah gotcha... that's still pretty compact for a case though. Though I think I've seen the little mini motherboards or whatever that could fit in there.
Btw Schala is awesome, or might be Janus? hard to tell with that style of art lol

/em looks at Matti's computer and pees his pants.

Yea both your computers are really great.

I run on a factory laptop with 30GB HDD, 512 memory, and very crappy ATI graphics card. Oh well as long as FFXI runs smooth I don't really care haha. I guess I could use my laptop also for word processing and such.

Since this is the official Geek Thread, where can I buy inexpensive computer parts? I kinda need some more memory for my laptop and that isn't very cheap anywhere I look.
